"Just to make sure you don't get scared or anything," he assured you, stepping forward and pulling you along beside him. He felt a shiver run down his spine as he observed his surroundings. If he was being honest, he really just wanted to nope the fuck out of there with you right now, since there could be some serial killer or hobo in there. Or, worse, a ghost. As he pulled you up onto the porch with him, he placed a booted foot to the moldy, splintery oak wood front door. It might've been involuntarily, but he didn't know because he was just pulling you along with him. Scanning the first room, he could've sworn he'd seen something run past in the hall directly across you two, into another room. Immediately John stiffened up, pulling you closer to him.
