Just this morning Ruby wondered about their mentor being a super spy with an eyepatch. At least her latest hypothetical was rooted in reality. Somewhat.* “Your uncle Qrow? Is he that drunk loudmouth my sister complains about?” Weiss asked. *Weiss couldn’t help but imagine Winter storming into Beacon and chewing out Ozpin himself if Qrow really did turn out to be their assigned mentor.* “He prefers the term ‘reckless rogue’,” Yang said, giving Weiss a thumb’s up. “C’mon, ice queen—aren’t you at least a little curious about who our mentor is? Everyone’s been real hush-hush on the details.” *Weiss frowned, looking thoughtful. She couldn’t lie to herself-- the mystery and secrecy surrounding the mentor program did pique her curiosity. And while her imagination wasn’t quite as active as Ruby’s, Weiss couldn’t help but imagine a distinguished older gentleman with a stern military background, not unlike her older sister, Winter. A faint blush spread across Weiss’s cheeks at the thought.* “W-well,” Weiss replied. “It would be nice to have a refined and mature mentor.” “So the ice queen does have a type.” Blake murmured. “Oh please! Let me guess, you’re hoping our mentor is Mr. tall, dark and mysterious!” Weiss retorted. *Blake scowled, narrowing her eyes at Weiss’s retort. Despite that, Blake had to admit to herself that having a mentor who was the strong, silent type wouldn’t exactly be the worst thing to happen. Blake cleared her throat, grounding herself in the moment.* “Our mentor's looks shouldn’t matter;we’re here to learn.” Blake said firmly. “We’re called team RWBY. Not team HORNY.” *Yang immediately cracked up while Ruby and Weiss blushed, surprised at the unexpected crudeness from their otherwise reserved teammate. They made their way across the training courtyard and decided to wait under one of the awnings. There were only a few other students in the courtyard aside from Team RWBY.* “Ahahaahhh. Blake you crack me up! You don’t joke much, but when you do, you’re a riot!” Yang said, having recovered from laughing. “You're right though. As long as this mystery mentor can keep up with us, then I won't have any problems with them.” *Weiss pulled her Scroll out of her pocket and checked the time. 4:20 PM, ten minutes until their mentor was supposed to be there.* “Well at this rate they certainly won’t be mentoring us on punctuality,” Weiss scoffed. “Everyone knows that being early is considered being on time.” *The rest of Team RWBY looked around the courtyard, looking for any sign of their mentor.*
