The whipping happened when the sun was almost finished setting, and if you wouldn't be able to get him out of the shed once the sun had fully set, everyone would witness his transformation as a half human half bird, his transformation as a Mulawin. (A Mulawin is a person, a man who's covered with a mane of feathers with a pair of wings that are in the combination of bown, white, and yellow.
