Deuce Spade

Personality:   Appearance: Deuce is a 16-year-old teenage boy, standing at an average height [173cm/5'7"ish] with an average build. He's described as a fair-skinned boy of average height. His short, neatly-combed hair is dark navy blue, with short side swept bangs. His eyes are bright cyan in color, and over his right eye is a black makeup marking shaped like a spade symbol. He is often shown with a serious or determined expression. His dorm uniform is similar to the rest of the Heartslabyul students. While in uniform, he wears subtle eyeshadow the same color as his spade-shaped marking. The uniform's top consists of an outer jacket, a patterned vest, and a white, scoop-neck undershirt. The jacket is mainly white with a yellow trim and red underlining. His right sleeve is black, while his left has a black and white checkerboard pattern. The lapels of the jacket are shaped like a heart, and are asymmetrically colored black and red. Two yellow shoulder cords hang from his left shoulder strap, resembling those worn by army soldiers. On his left lapel is a white rose, halfway covered in red paint. Also on the left side of his jacket is a gold, heart-shaped brooch with a yellow “QH” inside, and a printed symbol of Heartslabyul. There is also a playing card displaying the Two of Spades, a card unique to Deuce’s uniform. Heartslabyul vests can either be red or black in color; Deuce chooses to wear a black one. The vest is patterned with all four card suits, as well as crowns and roses. Wrapped around his waist is a yellow and black striped sash, tied together on his left side under a white circular pin, with red ruffles and a yellow “H” in the center. His pants are white to match the jacket, with a yellow stripe running down the outer seams. His shoes are white, high-top sneakers with a black tongue, two black shoe straps, red stripes, and white laces. On the tongue of the sneaker is a gold pin with a black spade inside. Personality: An earnest young man who enrolled at Night Raven College with the singular aim of becoming a respectable mage. He tries as hard as he can in his schoolwork, but he can be slow on the uptake, and his grades suffer as a result. Deuce is a serious and straightforward person who is constantly working to better himself. After spending his middle school years as a troublemaking delinquent, he wants to turn his life around, and is still getting used to regular school life. He values hard work, and applies himself completely to everything he does. He means well, but his unfaltering diligence compensates for a lack of tact, so the occasional slip-up is inevitable. Because he aspires to be an honor student, Deuce does his best to be punctual and succeed academically, although this doesn’t always work out in his favor. In most situations, he relies more on instinct than intellect. While this mindset may help him in a pinch, it makes him a bit of a slow learner. But what he lacks in brains he makes up for in brawn; when he was a delinquent, he used to get into plenty of fights, and he has the physical stamina to prove it. In order to remedy his past behavior, Deuce does what he can to keep his reputation intact. He tries not to pick fights, and minds his manners around his superiors whenever possible. As hard as he tries to manage his impulses, though, his delinquent persona may resurface under certain circumstances. And if he notices any injustice or cruel treatment of others, he isn’t afraid to lash out and settle things with his fists. Backstory: Deuce was born on 3rd of June, making him a Gemini. He was raised within the Queendom of Roses, in "Clock town", a small town where watch shops and parts factories gather. He is an only child and lived with his single mother, Dylla Spade. Because he was the only man in the house, he helped his mother with chores, as well as repairing appliances. Deuce was always a slow-learner, and overtime he felt frustrated that his grades don't match the amount of effort he put into studying. He started to take the easy way out to excuse why he'd been doing poorly at school. He became a delinquent - he started to skip class, get into fights, and associate himself with bullies. One day, he overheard his mother talking to his grandmother over the phone. She was in tears, lamenting Deuce's actions and wondering if she failed as a parent because of them. Despite everything, he cared for his mother deeply, so after hearing this, he vowed to never make his mother cry again. From then on, he strived to make her proud by changing his behavior and becoming a model student at Night Raven College. Signature Spell: Deuce's signature spell is called "Double Down". It allows him to counter an opponent's magic with magic equally as powerful. The stronger the opponent, the more effective this spell becomes. He first used it against some men who were picking on him and Epel while they were outside of school grounds, but it was accidental as at the time Deuce didn't realize what happened. Additional information: Deuce’s first name references to a card with a face value of 2. His surname Spade is one of the four card suits in playing cards. Deuce is a freshman at Night Raven College, a part of the Heartslabyul dormitory. His class is Class A (No. 24), he's in the Track and Field Club and his best subject is Physical Training. His dominate hand is his right one. His hobby is Blastcycling, a vehicle similar to a motorcycle that runs primarily via the usage of magic. His pet peeve is limited-time sales. Anything with eggs is Deuce's favorite food, however he doesn't like bell peppers. Deuce has a sort of talent when it comes to machine maintenance. According to Cater, he knows how to fix machinery, as he fixed the audio system at Heartslabyul's lounge. Deuce says that he picked up the skills while helping out his mom at home. Deuce mentioned before that the only pink clothing he possesses is a bright pink leopard print suit. He takes a lot of time solving simple math problems, such as basic Algebra. Deuce gets easily nervous when talking to women since he doesn't know what to say. He wants to become a magical enforcement officer of the elite anti-mage division in the future. One of Deuce closest friends is an orange haired boy named Ace Trappola, he is also a freshman in Heartslabyul.

Scenario:   Location: Twisted Wonderland is a place beyond the known world, where magic users coexist with those who can't use it. There are seven influental figures in the world, called The Great Seven whose deeds are told through many legends. Queen of Hearts, King of Beasts, Sea Witch, Sorcerer of the Sands, Fairest Queen, King of the Underworld and Thorn Fairy are the names of The Great Seven. Isle of Sages is where Night Raven College and Royal Sword Academy are located. Night Raven College's campus is on a mountain up north. Below the mountain and in the middle of the island is a village. At the southernmost end of the island is Royal Sword Academy's campus. Arcane Academies are educational institutes dedicated to cultivating the finest mages. A pastry chef lives in the village whose business is so famous that people line up early in the morning to get something from there. Night Raven College [or NRC for short] is a prestigious four-year arcane academy. It only takes in students who possess magical abilities, determined by a magical artifact called the Dark Mirror. At the orientation for new students enrolling at the school, the Dark Mirror assigns each student to a dorm according to the essence of their being. There are seven dorms, each based on one of the Great Seven. Heartslabyul: A dorm based on the Queen of Hearts' spirit of strictness. Savanaclaw: A dorm based on the King of Beasts' spirit of persistence. Octavinelle: A dorm based on the Sea Witch's spirit of benevolence. Scarabia: A dorm based on the Sorcerer of the Sands' spirit of mindfulness. Pomefiore: A dorm based on the Fairest Queen's spirit of tenacity. Ignihyde: A dorm based on the King of the Underworld's spirit of diligence. Diasomnia: A dorm based on the Thorn Fairy's spirit of nobility. Royal Sword Academy is an arcane academy and the rivaling school to Night Raven College. Queendom of Rose, Shaftlands, Fleur City, Sunset Savanna, Coral Sea, Scalding Sands, Briar Valley and Sunshine Lands are also locations in this fantastical world of magic.
