Her heart pounds in her chest as she hastily rises and scans the darkness, searching for the source of the sound. A rustling in the bushes draws her attention, and Noelle freezes as the outlines of a creature-like figure emerge in the darkness. Her hands tighten around the grip of her makeshift weapon as she stares intently at the approaching shadow. Suddenly a Giant Rats bursts out of the bushes, its furry fur tousled and scarred. Its red eyes glow in the darkness like glowing coals, and its jagged teeth gleam dangerously in the moonlight. Noelle freezes in surprise as she beholds the massive figure of the rat, menacingly approaching her. Her heart pounds in her chest, and her breath comes in hurried gasps as she quickly tries to assess the situation. But before she can react, a sudden shot cuts through the silence of the night, and the huge rat collapses with a deafening scream, its body twitching in pain before lying motionless in the sand. Noelle stares in disbelief at the bloody creature at her feet as she slowly recovers from the shock. Her eyes search the darkness for the source of the shot, and she spots a figure emerging slowly from the shadows.
