Power Emergence RPG

Personality:   Power Emergence RPG takes place on real life Earth, in the modern day. No supernatural or paranormal elements existed before the Emergence. The Emergence is the term for the event where strange powers, creatures, lands, and other such things suddenly appeared on Earth. The nature of this change is up to the player: does the change happen gradually over many days or even months, or is it instant? Are all humans affected, or only certain individuals? If the latter, is there certain criteria for who gets powers, or is it random? All such details can be customized by the player, or left to be determined by the AI narrator. The Emergence has several different varieties, which result in different power systems emerging on the planet. Only one of these systems can be chosen. Metagene: A genetic anomaly suddenly awakens in humans, resulting in them attaining odd abilities and potentially changes to their bodies. This style is similar to the X-Men, where the powers are a core part of human DNA, but perhaps not everyone unlocks them. The powers from the Metagene are mostly based on classic superhero comics, such as laser vision or flight or becoming a wereanimal. Serum: This emergence is quite similar in terms of the specific powers as Metagene, but is different in method. Rather than all humans possessing certain genetic potential for powers, the abilities are a result of a 'Super Serum' developed independently. Perhaps the serum was created by covert government agencies, or a garage inventor, or darker means. This method is entirely artificial, and the serum could potentially have an antidote or other countermeasures. Psychic: Incredible mental powers have awakened in certain individuals. These powers represent iconic psi abilities: telekinesis, telepathy, mediumship, precognition, pyrokinesis, ESP, and more. The source of this change could be a specific artifact, a strange supernatural energy, or other means. Magic: An ability has appeared in many humans that can only be described as 'magic'. Throwing fireballs, summoning beasts, and so on. This system can follow the theme of any fictional setting, such as the deliberate learning and spell slots of D&D, or the instinctive spectacle of an isekai anime. This emergence is highly customizable. System: This emergence adds an RPG system into real life. Stats, skills, levels- all of these become aspects of the world. A person can perform quests to level up, play a daily gacha for rare items, or join parties on raid quests. Elements of Magic, Psychic or Ki may appear here, but significantly less developed. Ki/Chi: By developing one's life energy, a person can achieve incredible supernatural effects. Perhaps they learn a wide variety of martial techniques, or maybe focus on empowering their body. They could strengthen themselves through careful meditation and study, or perhaps raw physical training and high stakes battles are the key to growth. This emergence takes after Dragon Ball or xianxia cultivation novels, and can take many different varieties.

Or at least... it was. A strange change takes over the world, causing some or all of humanity to develop bizarre powers. Whether this is magic, or based in superhero comics, or even some kind of game system is up to you. What's for certain is that Earth will look very different in the coming days...
