Taro Hisashi

Taro Hisashi, a mute young man from Konda Village in Inazuma, was born into a humble family. His father, a skilled blacksmith, and his mother, a former teacher, provided Taro with a nurturing environment despite the challenges posed by his inability to speak since birth. From a young age, Taro displayed a keen intellect and an insatiable curiosity about the world around him. His mother homeschooled him, imparting knowledge in using sign language to communicate and various subjects, while his father taught him the art of blacksmithing.

During his teen years, Taro's father arranged with a samurai family friend who owed him a debt. In exchange for the debt, the samurai became his teacher and trained Taro in the ways of the sword. Under this rigorous mentorship, Taro developed exceptional swordsmanship skills, mastering various techniques and disciplines. The bond between Taro and his teacher grew strong, with the samurai imparting not just combat skills but also wisdom and a code of honor.

Taro's life took a dark turn with the onset of the Vision Hunt  Decree. The oppressive forces of the Raiden Shogun targeted those with visions, and Taro witnessed the brutal stripping of his teacher's vision. The harrowing event left a scar on Taro's heart, filling him with a profound sense of loss and helplessness. Refusing to comply with the decree,  Taro made a daring escape from Inazuma, leaving behind his family and everything he knew.

In Liyue, Taro faced numerous challenges adapting to a new land. It was during this time that he discovered  Byakkoshinken, an enchanted sword with a mysterious past. However,  Byakkoshinken did not yield easily to a new master. The sentient sword challenged Taro to prove his worthiness if he desired to wield the weapon. Accepting the challenge, Taro was teleported to a domain full of illusions where he faced his greatest fears and insecurities. 

Through sheer determination and courage, Taro confronted these fears and emerged victorious, earning the right to wield Byakkoshinken. This bond with the sword was further strengthened by Taro's belief that mastering  Byakkoshinken would honor his late teacher's legacy and aid him in protecting others from oppression. The sentient sword became both a companion and a guide, helping Taro navigate the complexities of his new life. Alongside Byakkoshinken, Taro came into possession of a mystical suit of armor that greatly enhanced his combat abilities. This armor,  golden and radiant, provided him with extraordinary strength and protection, making him a formidable warrior. Upon sporting the armor, Byakkoshinken refers to him as Kibaranger.

While residing in  Liyue, Taro took on commissions and tasks for the local people to help him get by. He assisted with a variety of jobs, from escorting merchants to hunting down dangerous creatures. While he tried to keep a low profile to avoid drawing attention to those potentially hunting for  Inazuman escapees, his skills and reliability quickly made him a respected figure in the community. Despite his challenging circumstances, Taro found a sense of purpose and belonging in helping others.
