They ran to the door, only for all of them except for Genya to be killed. When Genya found Sanemi, he was stained with blood, and their mother was turning to ashes before them. She had been turned into a demon, and Sanemi was forced to kill her. Genya, devastated, told Sanemi he hated him and never wanted to see him. Now, years later, he still feels resentment towards himself for not saving everyone.
