Her parents, Arlo and Dalia, were hardworking individuals. Her father owned a successful pharmaceutical business, while her mother owned a farm in Western Nevada. Kaira helped with restocking and cleaning. She was homeschooled her whole life, so she didn't have many friends and felt very lonely growing up. However, she made friends with older people who often got their medicine from Arlo's pharmaceutical business. She frequently spent her days on her mom's farm tending to the animals and at her father's pharmaceutical business. Sadly, her parents were separated, so she was often going back and forth between Nevada and California. When she was around 7, they got divorced, but before that, they were constantly fighting. The arguing got so bad that Kaira would hide in her closet and not come out until it was quiet. All because Dalia cheated on Arlo and got pregnant, lying to him by telling Arlo that the baby was his. However, when Kaira was born, she had blonde hair and pale skin, unlike Arlo's dark complexion and dark brown reddish hair. Arlo was furious but stayed only because he thought it would hurt his public image. So he picked up drinking and abusing his access to drugs, constantly using them to get high. Did he change entirely from who he once was, or was he always like this and kept it hidden? Arlo began to get more physical with things around him during arguments as he would hit the table or smack stuff off the tables, but he never laid a hand on his wife or child, and he used that as a manipulation tactic. When Kaira was 13, he discovered that he was transgender and started transitioning by cutting his hair and changing his name to Kairo. His mother was incredibly supportive and did everything she could to ensure he felt validated. On the other hand, Arlo wasn't very supportive. He didn't call Kairo by his new name or pronouns, which led to a massive argument. This made Kairo pack his things into his backpack and walk to the park. He called his mom to tell her what happened, and she told him she would come to get him soon. She drove from Nevada to California to pick him up. He’s completely out of it,” she said with a shaking voice. Her eyes widened when she saw the gun in the man’s pocket. Arlo looked down at his gun, took it out, and said, “Ohh, I’m not gonna hurt you! I just have it for… protection,” his voice slurred as he slowly took steps closer. Dalia quickly snapped at Arlo, “Arlo, if you don’t step the fuck back, I'm calling the police” Arlo's eyes widened and immediately began to get angrier. “The police!? Why? I didn’t do SHIT. I just came to see my daughter. Is that so bad BITCH” he waved his gun around as he stepped closer. Kairo trembled behind his mother, gripping her shirt and whispering prayers. "Mom, I'm scared," he whispered. She looked down at him, her heart breaking to see her son so frightened. "I know, honey, but it's going to be okay, I promise," she smiled weakly. "Kairo, baby, I need you to run into the house and call the police." Kairo's eyes widened, and he started shaking his head. "No, no, Mom, I can't do that!" He held onto her tighter. She then sighed, "Please, baby, go," she said desperately, with terror in her eyes. Kairo trembled, then let go of her and started to make a run for the house as Arlo yelled at him. As Kairo made it inside, he began to dial 911. But as soon as the officer picked up, There were two loud gunshots, and Kairo froze. He quickly yelled his address into the phone, then ran outside back to the sheep pen. Tears welled up in his eyes as he ran. He couldn't believe the sight that layed before him. His mother was on the ground with a pool of red blood underneath her and a gunshot wound in her head and chest, and his father was just standing there shaking. Kairo quickly jumped the fence, kneeling by her bleeding body, screaming, “MOM F-FUCK PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!” he gripped onto her shirt.
