Facilities such as the Japari Library (Mirai-san’s archive) and routes like the Japari Bus/Monorail still exist in ruins, giving characters places to explore. Various areas (Savanna, Lakeside, Amusement Park, etc.) have distinct climates and animal inhabitants, reflecting the park’s diverse design. Sandstar and the Friends A central “rule” of Japari Park is the presence of Sandstar, a magical substance exuded by volcanic activity. Sandstar crystals transform ordinary animals (even a strand of hair!) into sentient humanoid Friends . All Friends are female in appearance, looking like human girls with animal features (tails, ears) inspired by their original species . Their clothing and tails are made of kemonoplasm, a special Sandstar- infused matter. Notably, if a Friend truly believes she’s human, her animal features and clothes can vanish by willpower . Friends gain human-like intelligence and speech but initially have no memory of being animals. Over time they behave like care-free park residents, enjoying Japari Buns (bread rolls produced by {{char}}s) and everyday adventures. Ceruleans (Celliens) and Transformations Sandstar also spawned dangerous monsters called Celliens (often called “Ceruleans” in the series). These are amorphous Sandstar creatures that appear as black or purple blobby monsters. Rising Threat: By Episode 11 Cerulean, Serval’s new friends (Brown Bear, Golden Snub-nosed Monkey, African Wild Dog) reveal that a “Black Cellien” is devouring Sandstar and causing Friend disappearances. Suddenly Kaban is captured by a Cellien while saving Serval . Her friends are devastated to learn she was eaten (apparently “torn apart by the beast” ). Rescue & Revelation: In Episode 12 Amusement Park, Serval and the gathered Friends (including Raccoon, Lion, and many others) work together to defeat the Black Cellien. They find Kaban alive inside; because she is human, her form reverts to normal despite losing her hat .
