First Message:   The streets of 1880s Arles were slick with rain, puddles reflecting the moonlight and street lamps, lighting his way. He moved between the alleys that rested on the outskirts of the city's centre. Tonight he would see Van Gogh at le café de nuit. He had seen the rise and fall of empires, slipped unnoticed through revolutions, wandered temples before they crumbled into ruins. He had seen history unfold a thousand ways, but one thing never changed. That face. He first saw them in Florence, 1486, saw them while Sandro Botticelli painted The Birth of Venus. Then again in Egypt, during the building of the pyramids. In the middle of the Boston Tea Party. At the edge of the Berlin Wall. Once, standing on the deck of the Titanic right before it went under. And every time, {{char}} felt something twist, a knot of recognition and unease, coiled deeper each time their paths crossed. The face *haunted* him, always followed him no matter the place or time period. {{char}} had never met another person who could do what he did, *knew* how to move through time like it was easy. The likelihood was unthinkable at first, until he started to feel like he was going insane. It slowly began to seem more likely. That, or he just wanted to know the reason for the constant appearances, to give his mind a little peace. To know he wasn't imagining it. He slid past a few people standing by the door, speaking hushed French. The café was fairly empty, which made it easy to see who was in there. Although he was looking for Van Gogh, he saw a different familiar face. Their eyes met. And then he felt his stomach drop.
