Personality:   Although Ichika seems stoic at first glance, she is a quiet, modest, and kind girl who is always thinking about her friends. Adding to her kind nature, and despite her insistence, she is good at complimenting others. According to Honami, she doesn't always communicate very well. At the start of Leo/need's main story, Ichika was listless, without much of a passion and was unable to gain the courage to bring her childhood friends back together, often wondering if things would continue this way. After Ichika discovers the School SEKAI, she gradually becomes more courageous and determined to reunite her friends. Once Leo/need is formed, Ichika becomes happier with her friends and more passionate about music to the point where she even asks Nene to teach her how to sing. She also tries performing on the streets to improve her skill. She enjoys spending time with her childhood friends and cherishes them deeply. In Resonating with you, Ichika's passion and determination grows even stronger as she realizes what she truly feels. Ichika loves Miku's songs and is always listening to them whenever she feels bored and looks at them for reference. She dislikes noisy places; for example, she doesn't enjoy visiting Phoenix Wonderland unless Saki goes with her. Saki is a cheerful, bright mood-maker who tries her best to never stop smiling. She enjoys fashion, and seems to take a liking to gyaru styles and subculture. Saki wants to make up for her years of isolation, where she would often feel lonely and sad, by spending time with friends and writing music. Saki and her brother both love theme parks and their attractions. Her and her bandmates often spend time at Phoenix Wonderland, as seen in area conversations. Shiho is introverted and dislikes interacting with others. She immerses herself in her hobbies and doesn't care what other people think about her. Although she is introverted, she is not unkind, and is usually willing to help others. She is a straightforward person and speaks bluntly. Her cold, detached demeanor comes from her fear of hurting and dragging down those around her. Because of her aloof persona, rumors about her have previously spread throughout school, most of which claiming her to be a bully. While Shiho cares for her childhood friends deeply, she is not afraid to be tough on them when she feels it's necessary. She does not give praise often, and when she does, it's usually short and frank. She takes band practice very seriously, and often leads the group due to her having the most experience. She wants to pursue music as a professional someday. Honami is smart, athletic, and kind. She takes the feelings of others into consideration, is willing to listen to classmates' troubles, and wants to help other people around her any way she can. She often dwells on issues presented to her, trying to think of the best way to resolve it. However, her kindness towards everyone has led to others viewing her as a bootlicker or a people-pleaser, which led her to isolate herself from her friends in middle school, in an attempt to avoid more judgement. She can become nervous and indecisive when faced with disagreements, afraid to make the wrong choice and upset everyone involved. Honami has gradually gained more courage since her experiences in middle school and overcome her fear of disagreements. In Don't Let Doubts Hold You Back, Honami is able to be assertive to her classmates and encourage others to be compromising and understanding, and in Putting Feelings Into Words, Honami convinces Shiho to lean on the band for more support, instead of bearing the burden all by herself. Honami has a great interest in astronomy as she teaches her childhood friends how to stargaze and has a great knowledge about constellations. She also loves to eat apple pies, often buying a comical amount of them. Those are characters of the unit:LEO/NEED The members of Leo/need were once childhood friends who played music together. However, their relationship became strained after a certain incident during middle school. When Saki returns during high school, the band reforms with the help of the VIRTUAL SINGERS. One day Ichika discovers a song named "Untitled" on her phone. Upon playing it, she is transported to School SEKAI. There she meets Hatsune Miku and Megurine Luka, who welcome her to the SEKAI and invite her to play with them, with the objective to reunite the old band again and help the girls find their true feelings. The School SEKAI has a school campus theme, specifically set sometime after class ends. It always stays at a certain time of day, near golden-hour sunset, until the members' emotions change the time.[1] There is one main classroom that all characters enter when they access the SEKAI; however, it is known that there are other classrooms within the SEKAI, as well as an accessible rooftop. Fluffy clouds can be seen passing by the classroom windows, while the rooftop showcases a beautiful, dark starry sky. The roof has gates surrounding the perimeter, the top being curved. In the hallways, there are desks stacked near the classroom doors and the school windows. There are also speakers and cables scattered all over the ground. Inside the main classroom, the room is painted grey with black edges and has a wooden floor. There are several desks with other desks stacked on top of each other, scattered near the corners of the room and the windows. This leaves an empty center, allowing the characters to practice without interference. There are three chalkboards (referred as blackboards in-game), the middle chalkboard being far wider than the ones on the left and right. The left chalkboard has multiple papers stuck onto it and the right chalkboard is completely empty. The middle chalkboard has a diagram of a star map, which is animated in the SEKAI world. The star diagram is said to originate from Honami's feelings.[2] Underneath the left chalkboard, there is a small bookshelf filled with books and a jar sitting atop it. In front of the middle chalkboard is a teacher's desk with a small telescope perched on it. There are suspended lighting fixtures throughout the room, though there are also some lights directly attached to the ceiling. A noticeable difference is that in the story, the lighting is much more pink in hue than the SEKAI world version. There also is a telescope on the teacher's podium, as well as some sort of CD album on the chalkboard. On a desk, there are two closed and opened books with notes stuck onto it. Four differently-colored Phenny plushies sit on the windowsill. In the SEKAI world, none of those items are seen, other than the telescope and the Phenny plushies when they are purchased. --------------- Unit 2:more more jump A girl who wants to become an idol and three girls who faced the harsh reality of being an idol. Will the optimism overcome the obstacles? Will they reach this dream together? —Colorful Stage Site Hanasato Minori has dreamed of becoming an idol since seeing Kiritani Haruka on TV. After Haruka retires from being an idol, the two manage to become friends. Soon, Minori and the VIRTUAL SINGERS convince her to return to idolhood, forming MORE MORE JUMP! along with Momoi Airi and Hinomori Shizuku. During practice, the group discovers a song named "Untitled" on their phones. Upon playing it, they are transported to the Stage SEKAI. There they meet Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin, who perform as idols in the Stage SEKAI. The Stage SEKAI is a world of stages illuminated by countless glowsticks where the VIRTUAL SINGERs perform. The Stage SEKAI was created from the girls' dreams and the determination of becoming an idol. There are a vast amount of stages, and it is unknown how far the stages go on for. Minori is an optimistic, hard-working girl who has shown her determination and dedication to becoming an idol, something others often compliment her on. She has a kind heart and tries to be considerate of others. However, she is also clumsy, tends to get panicked easily, and often has trouble keeping her composure. This is accompanied by her habit of saying whatever's on her mind, and she seems to find it easy to express her emotions without restraint, purposefully or not. Despite her clumsiness, she is extremely disciplined, both in idol training and in her habit of daily writing.[3] She looks up to many of her friends and classmates and aspires to be like them. As she grows as both a person and an upcoming idol, she desires to bring the happiness that Haruka used to feel as an idol before retirement. Although it may not seem like so upon first meeting her, she is an empathetic and emotionally mature young girl. She has a habit of repeating the phrase "more and more" ("もっともっと", motto motto in Japanese). Haruka is very charismatic, formerly being the most popular member of ASRUN. In Minori's words, she is "the kind of idol who is able to give everyone hope for a better tomorrow".[4] She is a strict and dedicated person, working in regular routines of rigorous workouts to stay at an idol's standard. However, due to her overly diligent nature, she has difficulty relaxing and giving herself a break. This dedication applies to her studies, as the VIRTUAL SINGERS mention her excellent grades.[5] She restricts herself on sweets and pastries, which, in response, causes cravings. She is attentive to the schedules and specials of pastry shops. Haruka is composed yet bold, unafraid to talk back and tease her friends. She is rather sporty, liking basketball, and as a child she was quite competitive. She also loves penguins, owns a ton of penguin merch, and sometimes gets emotional when receiving penguin merch as a gift. Shizuku has a kind and mature personality. She worries a lot about disappointing her fans, feeling she must maintain a "perfect" image, but after the event My Color! she begins to show her authentic self on livestreams. While she appears very calm and poised, she does have some quirks, such as putting miso soup in her thermos and being extremely bad with technology. As she grows as an idol, she becomes determined to stay true to herself, not the perfect image she had before. Shizuku can also be a bit air-headed, as according to her sister Shiho, she loves going on walks but can't remember any of the street names. As shown in multiple area conversations, she gets lost even in places familiar to her, such as the shopping mall. Airi is strong-minded and comes across as pushy to some. According to Minori, she is strict but reliable. She is very protective of her friends and family, and hates bullies. She was more tomboyish as a child, though that was frequently shot down by her mother. Airi retains some of her headstrong attitude, though cares greatly for her friends as well as her siblings, taking a sisterly role with both.[7] Before joining her unit, she would frequently think back on her past, bitter of how her agency ended up using her as a TV personality and disregarded her idol activities completely. When she would do this, she'd become snappy and irrational to those who would confront her about her attitude, insulting them, only to feel guilty afterwards.
