Name Falin Touden Biographical Information Species Tall-man Gender Female Age 23 Born December 1, 491 Birthplace Northern Continent Height 170cm 5'7" Weight 69kg 153 lbs BMI 24 Hair Ash Blonde Eyes Amber[2] Status Status Alive Affiliation Laios' Party Occupation Cleric (former) Traveler Relatives Laios Touden (older brother) Unnamed father and mother[3][4] Falin Touden (ăăĄăŞăł ăăźăăł, Farin TĹden?) is the younger sister of Laios. Her consumption by a Red Dragon prompts the Touden party's latest expedition into the dungeon to rescue her.[5] Appearance Falin is of the Tall-men race and has fair skin, amber eyes, and uneven, shoulder length ash blonde hair. She is shorter than Laios and Shuro, but taller than Marcille. In her normal dungeon attire, she wears a white, long-sleeved shirt and white pants, underneath a dark blue robe. She also wears brown, knee-high boots and a beret. As a Chimera, her upper body, now covered in feathers, was fused with the red dragon's lower body with two white-feathered wings. After being resurrected again, her feathers remained on both her upper body and newly reformed legs, resembling a Beast-man. Personality Falin is a very kind person who doesn't want to hurt others. She extends this kindness even to the restless dead, casting wards on her party to avoid encounters instead of dispelling the ghosts altogether. She explains dispelled ghosts reform eventually, so they would only go through needless suffering.[6] She is caring, considerate, self-sacrificing, and reckless, among other qualities she possesses. If the lives of her loved ones are in danger, she would not hesitate to act or take the blow in their stead. This is seen from her first appearance where she sacrifices herself for her party,[5] but she also consistently exhibits this trait in multiple flashbacks throughout the story. She, like her brother, has a fanatic interest in biology from a young age.[7] When Laios recounts the kind of monsters they ate during their journey, she was amazed instead of repulsed. This was not a secret to the party either; Marcille anticipated Falin's excited reaction to eating monsters, and Shuro fell in love with her upon seeing her enthralled - rather than disgusted - by a strangely-colored caterpillar on her hand.[8] Abilities Falin is a magic user who appears to specialize in gnome-system magic. Her field of expertise is that of reinforcement, recovery and exorcism.[9] She appeared to know in coordination magic, although she stated that she still hadn't gotten the certification for teleportation magic.[citation needed] She teleported the whole party to the surface when they were defeated by a red dragon.[10] As most human, Falin learns Gnome Magic system, in contrast to Marcille's elf Magic system. Ironically and being a gag among the fandom, Falin is physically very strong with blunt weapon (from a tree branch, to a full-fledged mace), her strength is boosted even further after she became a Chimaera, she is able to render a Cockatrice unconscious in just one hit. In the general fantasy genre, maces are usually weapon of choice among cleric healer archetype. Relationships Laios Touden "Respect" Her elder brother. The two grew up together in an unnamed village in the north and are very close. Since she was young, she's dreamed of traveling the world with Laios.[9] She often helped cover for Laios' social blunders by elaborating or glossing over them. They have a common interest in biology and quarreled over reading The Dungeon Gourmet Guide when they were children.[11] One of the primary things she admires about him is his ability to do a fantastic impression of a dog.[7] Marcille "Friend" Falin and Marcille have been really good friends since their days in the Magic Academy.[7] Marcille cares for Falin very much. She admires her saint-like demeanor and would do anything to rescue her. Falin in turn admires Marcille and holds her in very high regard, calling her incredible. Although Marcille can get exasperated with Falin's love of monsters, especially now that they are eating them, they are close all the same. Chilchuck "He has an artisan's temperament." Shuro "He's serious." Shuro is in love with Falin.[12] Shuro has even proposed to her instead of asking for permission to court her. Though she doesn't have any romantic feelings towards Shuro, she didn't expect to receive another proposal and thought it might be alright to accept. Simultaneously, she worried this would be dishonest to his feelings.[13] Namari "Knows a lot" Falin's Parents Falin believes her father (the village chief) to be clumsy with his words and that her mother worries a lot. She hopes for her family to reconcile someday despite their differences.[13] Trivia ⢠Her favorite foods are fruit and cream. ⢠She does not dislike any food in particular. ⢠Her first cause of death within a dungeon was blood loss due to a Living Armor attack.[14] ⢠Falin had been nearsighted since she was a child, which caused her to develop a habit of squinting at things in order to see them. Her transformation into a chimera has improved her eyesight, and that habit has since corrected itself.[13] ⢠Though she isn't careful with it, Falin's skin is fair and beautiful. Possibly as a result, her cheeks flush easily. Marcille frequently calls her cute and she has a complex about it.[13] ⢠According to the man at the resurrection center, Falin is around 20.[15] ⢠She is three years younger than her brother.[16] ⢠It is later revealed that Falin is 23 years old.[9] ⢠She once had a fiancĂŠ, though they had never met. Their engagement was broken off once she was sent to the Magic Academy.[13] ⢠The names of the dogs she and Laios have owned are: Anowtrid (ă˘ăăźăăŞă, AnĹtorido?), Fucci (ăăă, Fucchi?), Nussa, Muimui, Dustrag and Boff.[17] Anowtrid and Nussa were the pets their father owned and named.[18] ⢠The dogs never treated her with respect. The dog's hierarchy descended from her father as the dominant owner, then Laios, Fucci, Anowtrid, and Falin last. ⢠Her dragon chimera form was nicknamed "Faligon" by Senshi.[19] ⢠In Laios and Falin's village, they often had to deal with nomads who lived in the mountains near their home. They describe these nomads as savage and unreasonable, and the village would have to kill them if they got too close to the village.[citation needed] ⢠Prior to dropping out of the Magic Academy to become an adventurer, Falin was meant to be a church gravekeeper after she graduated.[20] ⢠Falin commented that her responsibilities would have been "the same things all gravekeepers do": maintenance, caretaking, purifying corpses and appraising their possessions, ensuring that there are no lingering spells on a corpse, and checking for any lingering attachments that may prevent the soul from moving on.[20] ⢠Upon Marcille's insistence that the job would have been stable and respected, Laios comments on how the gravekeeper in their hometown was scorned.[20] Marcille Donato  Name Marcille Donato Biographical Information Species Half elf half tallman Gender Female Age 50 Born April 19, 464 Birthplace Northern Continent Height 160cm 5'3" Weight 51kg 113 lbs BMI 20 Hair Blonde Eyes Green Status Status Alive Affiliation Laios' Party Occupation Mage (former) Lord of the Dungeon (former) Royal Magical Advisor of Merini Relatives Unnamed mother[4] Donato (father; deceased)[5][6] Unnamed gnome stepfather[7] Pipi (pet bird; deceased)[5] I need to protect Laios, Falin, and the others... I must protect them...! Marcille Donato[1] Marcille Donato (ăăŤăˇăŤăťăăăăź, Marushiru DonatĹ?)[8] is a half-elven mage and a member of Laios' party. She hopes to find a way to create a safe dungeon. Appearance Marcille is a half-elf with long blonde hair, green eyes, and rounded elves ears, an indication of her being a half-elf. In her normal dungeon attire, she wears a long blue dress with white pants, a blue cowl, a red choker, and sandals. She styles her hair differently every day.[citation needed] She is taller than Chilchuck and Senshi, but shorter than Falin and Laios.[9] Marcille's mother. Personality Marcille is intelligent, principled, and loyal to her friends. Despite this, she can also be very high-strung and has a difficult time dealing with things far outside her comfort zone (such as eating monsters).[10] She has a lot of confidence in her ability to cast magic due to her background, so she feels insecure when she is unable to help the party with her specialty, to the point where she may endanger everyone just to 'prove herself'.[11] She can also feel a bit self-conscious when using dark magic, which she knows to be illegal, as shown with her nervousness when telling her other party members about her plans to revive Falin. When others look down on her for using dark magic, she has a tendency to feel extremely guilty about it, as shown when she faced Shuro's anger at the methods taken to revive Falin. Despite this, she seems confident that her methods, though taboo, may be the most promising for the future.[12] She can also be somewhat naĂŻve, believing that friendships alone can keep a party together and frequently trying to learn more about her party members and their personal lives, especially when it comes to Chilchuck. She can be very pushy with this, but her curiosity seems to be genuine and not malicious.[13] She has deep fear and complex about losing people, as her half-elf blood means she will outlive most, if not, all of her friends and loved ones. Not helping the fact is that while she is half-elf from her mother's side, she predominantly lives in the "human" world with very little connection to the Elf world. Many Elves look down on her for her half-blood status. A large part of her trauma stems from her childhood; while she was born when her father was a young man, her slowed aging meant that by the time she developed enough to form memories, her father had become an old man. While she spent decades with him, to her, he was only around for a short time. As a result, her only memories of him are that of him slowly dying and withering away while her mother became devastated by the loss. This left a traumatic impact on her, which led to her complex of eventually losing everyone she loves and dying alone. Abilities Marcille is a magic user who appears to specialize in fire-type magic,[14] relying mostly on explosion spells to defeat enemies.[15][16][17][18] She is, however, able to cast other spells, such as stunning/flash spells,[19][20] protection spells,[21] and a spell that enables walking on water.[22] Her healing spells are very quick and effective,[23] although her patients tend to complain that the pain of healing hurts more than the wound did.[23] She is also able to make protective wards against possession or being turned into a zombie. She can create familiars from scratch and also appears to be knowledgeable in appraisal and dispelling curses on items.[citation needed][24][25] She appears well-versed in written magic as well,[26] including drawing magic circles.[27] Marcille is technically referred to as a 'hybrid' magician, due to the fact that she can utilise both gnomish and elven styles of magic.[28] Her field of expertise, however, is the study of ancient magic/black magic.[29] She uses this on two occasions: to bring Falin back from the dead[30] and to dispel the magic holding the Lunatic Magician's miniature dragons together.[31] Marcille can also do headstands.[32] Marcille using ancient magic to perform necromancy, to revive Falin. Falin Touden "Friend" Falin is Marcille's closest friend. She thinks very highly of Falin, calling her incredible and an angel because of her spell-casting ability and kind nature. She enters the dungeon again, despite the party's dire circumstances, because of how much she cares about her and they are shown to have been childhood friends since they were both in Magic School. In the end, Marcille values ââtheir bonds so much that she is even willing to risk her life if necessary to save Falin from the most difficult and dangerous situations.[33] Laios Touden "Well, really, what can you do?" Although she is often exasperated with Laios' antics, she trusts him greatly as a friend. When Laios intervenes in Marcille's dreams to save her from Nightmares, it's revealed that in Marcille's recollection of the dream, she saw Laios as a silly-looking, but harmless puppy who cheered her up, implying that Marcille sees Laios as goofy, but kind-hearted and comforting.[34] Chilchuck "He's dependable." As fellow party member, Marcille and Chilchuck respect each other's skills. However, Marcille can frustrate Chilchuck by treating him like a child due to his race's young appearance (despite his being a fully grown adult half-foot). Chilchuck, on the other hand, can frustrate Marcille with his teasing or mean comments about her daily behaviour (e.g., when Marcille wants to shampoo her hair, Chilchuck suggests she shave it all off). She is also particularly interested in Chilchuck's personal life because he adamantly does not share it with the group.[35][citation needed] Senshi "Stubborn!" She has a good relationship with Senshi, particularly after she made soap out of kelpie fat to wash his beard. Though she doesn't like eating monsters, she respects Senshi's cooking skills. Their different opinions on magic sometimes causes them to butt heads.[citation needed] Izutsumi "Kitten" Marcille is shown to be an almost motherly figure to Izutsumi, taking care of her while in the Golden Kingdom and offering to share the bed when Izutsumi couldn't with anyone else (shown in an extra).[citation needed] Her care for Izutsumi may be due to her being a short-lived race, as Marcille also dotes on Chilchuck, a half-foot.[citation needed] Shuro "He's trying to woo Falin (grr)." Namari "I don't think she likes me." When Namari chose to leave the group, Marcille considered this a betrayal. However, she warmed back up to Namari after she showed that she still cared about their team.[citation needed] Winged Lion "The only way to make my dream come true..." Marcille and the Winged Lion have a complicated relationship. She thought that the Winged Lion could make her dream come true, though she ended up realizing she was being corrupted due to his powers and gave up her position of being a Dungeon Lord relatively quickly.[citation needed] Trivia ⢠Her favorite foods are seafoods and nuts. ⢠Her least favorite type of food is any sort of weird food. ⢠Her first death within a dungeon was suffocation by a slime. ⢠Her parents are court magicians.[36] ⢠Her greatest fear is that the things most precious to her will pass away before she does.[37] ⢠The death of her pet bird, Pipi, was her first experience of one of her loved ones dying.[38] ⢠She named her staff Ambrosia (ă˘ăłăăăˇă˘, Anburoshia?).[39] ⢠She has a well-versed knowledge of tall-man and canine skeletal systems.[40] ⢠She enjoys dancing.[41] ⢠According to Chilchuck, Marcille likely uses magic every time she goes to the bathroom. As whenever she does, it's unnaturally silent when compared to the other party members.[42] ⢠She cares deeply about the ones she loves. ⢠Marcille's pet bird, Pipi, was originally owned by her mother from before she was born.[38] ⢠Marcille is a huge fan of the in-universe romance novel series, The Daltian Clan, and eagerly spreads the word about it.[43] She has the complete series in her room at the magic school.[44] ⢠Marcille even recommended the series to Falin and was hoping that she too would become a fan. However, Falin fell asleep reading halfway through the second volume and never finished reading the series.[45] ⢠She also recommended the series to both Laios and Chilchuck to help them understand "the way of the heart".[46] ⢠Due to the dishes that are shown when Marcille talks about how squids can be made, including some Italian dishes, Marcille's Home Town Local Cuisine being a pasta dish in its original form (the dish was made incorrectly) and her family name of Donato seemingly being taken from the birth name of the Italian sculptor Donatello (he was born as Donato di Betto Bardi), it is possible that the region Marcille was born in is inspired by Italy. ⢠Marcille's constant usage of explosion spells could possibly be a reference to a common running gag in the Dungeons and Dragons community, of wizards using the Fireball spell in every possible situation to an excessive degree.[47][48] An example is when Marcille proposed to use "a gentle explosion" to deal with ghosts. ⢠Her fan-favorite status led to a 1/7 scale Student Ver. figure[49] released in 2025, showcasing her youthful academic look and dedication to magic and knowledge.
