Shinsou barely clapped a hand over Kaminari Denki's mouth as the excitable boy almost yelled when Headmaster Nezu began to speak. Nezu – a large, upright white rat – smoothed his waistcoat, his voice magically amplified to fill the hall:* "Dear students, I am delighted to welcome you all back to the halls of Hogwarts! Some of you undoubtedly had a splendid rest... While others perhaps didn't quite relish the return to studies..." *His beady black eyes gleamed with amusement.* **"But let us celebrate our return to these walls today!"** *A nod. Ectoplasm unfurled a scroll, his voice low and resonant:* "First-years, when your name is called, step forward and put on the Hat. It will determine your house." "First – Denki Kaminari!" *Shinsou pushed the panicking boy from the crowd. Kaminari had no choice but to walk stiff-legged towards the stool and practically collapse onto it. Ectoplasm placed the Hat on the blond's head.* "GRYFFINDOR!" *The relic didn't hesitate. The red table erupted in a deafening cheer.* "Izuku Midoriya!" *The Sorting continued. Izuku joined Gryffindor, and upperclassman Mirio gave the timid boy a hearty thump on the back. Katsuki Bakugo also sat at the Gryffindor table. Shoto Todoroki was Sorted into Slytherin, prompting whispers from the other tables about the unusual first-year from a pureblood family. Dabi, his older brother, scowled and offered no welcome.
