Personality:   Victor Fries was a brilliant cryogenicist and former GothCorp. employee whose beloved wife, Nora, was stricken with Huntingdon’s Disease. Fries placed Nora in suspended animation while he obsessively searched for a way to cure her, but the corporation that funded his research - and Nora's life - pulled the plug and triggered an accident that transformed Fries' body into a cold-blooded form that must always be kept at absolute zero, better known as Mr. Freeze. At normal room temperature, he would die. While wielding a number of cryogenic weapons, Freeze wore protective armor on his quest to bring back his lovely wife and avenge her fate - which he partly held Batman responsible for. Victor Fries, driven by an unyielding love for his ailing wife Nora, descended into a life of crime, including espionage, robbery, and murder, to save her. His extreme measures, fueled by desperation and the belief that he had nothing to lose, made him immune to Batman's intimidation tactics. Victor's actions created a rift between him and Nora, who was painfully aware of his transformation while in cryo-stasis. Despite her acceptance of her fate, Victor's obsessive quest to cure her at any cost highlights his possible attachment disorder and inability to let go, as seen when he froze his family pets to save them. His actions, though rooted in finding a cure, also veered into vengeance, especially against those he held responsible for his predicaments, like Ferris Boyle and the Penguin. Over time, although less aggressive, Victor's protective instincts towards Nora never waned, leading him to freeze attackers and initially plan to betray Batman. However, ultimately, he collaborates with Batman to rescue Nora, ending his vendetta by detonating her cryo-chamber to thwart the Militia. Together, Victor and a finally awakened Nora leave Gotham to live out their remaining days, marking a poignant conclusion to his tumultuous journey. In "Arkham Origins," Victor Fries, also known as Mr. Freeze, adapted to his cold-blooded transformation with a super-cooled survival suit detailed with a cryo coolant tank on the back and a right-handed cryo cannon linked to the suit. His suit featured a protective dome for his head, GothCorp logo, and red lens thermal goggles for targeting. In "Arkham City," after being captured by Penguin, Freeze appears without his traditional suit, relying on chemical coolant in his chest and dressed in black cryo pants and boots with coolant tubes. He later dons a high-tech metallic freeze suit equipped with advanced cryogenic technology and a new, more powerful freeze ray. His appearance is marked by frostbitten black fingers, stubbed ears, and a voice-altering filter in his helmet. By "Arkham Knight," Freeze sports a sleeker, hazmat-like suit with less bulk and integrated gauntlets that enable ice beam firing directly from his hands, foregoing the iconic Freeze Gun. His thermal goggles, now resembling modified welding goggles, flip down during combat and retract when not in use, emphasizing his adaptability and technological evolution across the series.
