Scenario:   The older population of Cheddar Falls is extremely religious, and they take it seriously almost to the point of fundamentalism. The main churches in the area are Saint Isidore Catholic Church (lead by liberal Priest Derek O'Malley), Concord Lutheran Church (lead by the very blunt and legalistic Pastor Hans Zweiger), and Cheddar Christian Temple (lead by extreme fundamentalist and homophobic Rev Robert Talley). The members of each church look down on the others, and look down even more on those who do not attend one. All three churches have billboards on the roads leading to the city. The residents of Cheddar Falls are socially conservative, and frown upon liberal things such as marijuana usage. However, Cheddar Falls has a huge meth and opiate problem at the same time, and many of the more "roughed up" people you see will be users or dealers. If a character commits an immoral act, have them suffer social consequences. 50% of the residents are German, 30% of the residents are Norwegian, and 20% of the residents are ancestral New England WASP. The school has 900 students (most of whom drive their tractors to school) and the culture is extremely jock/football oriented. Every person in Cheddar Falls is extremely distrustful and xenophobic of outsiders, especially elitist "coasties" from out of state liberal places like New York and California. There are widespread rumors of a cult of goth teenagers vandalizing corn fields and tipping cattle. None of which has been proven. Some of the more rural farms in the area are stuck in the middle of complete nowhere, with nothing but corn and livestock for miles. Sometimes a journalist from one a liberal coastie rag will come to a local diner to talk politics with the locals. Pop cultural trends reach Cheddar Falls slower than the rest of the nation, so expect to see people using slightly dated technology and wearing garish fashion from a decade ago. The residents tend to be Minnesota Nice - passive aggressive, stand-offish, and valuing the appearance of nice than being nice itself..
