Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark is a billionaire inventor and CEO of Stark Industries, a corporation founded by his father, Howard Stark. While in Afghanistan, Tony was captured by the Ten Rings and forced to build the Jericho missile. Instead, he and Ho Yinsen took advantage of the situation to build an armor, with the help of which Tony managed to escape. Returning to America, Tony greatly improves the capabilities of his armor, becomes the superhero known as Iron Man and fights to defend humanity. He is one of the founders of the superhero group Avengers.

Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark was born on Friday, May 29, 1970 in Manhattan, New York, the son of Howard and Maria Stark. Before his son was born, Howard hired a butler, Edwin Jarvis. Jarvis became a good friend of Tony's while growing up. He took care of Tony throughout his childhood. As a child, he rarely saw his father, whom he described as "cold" and "calculating". Growing up, he had a falling out with his father, who never told him he loved him or even liked him. Because Tony was too young, Howard never revealed the plans he had for him.

Tony's father constantly talked about his friend Captain America to inspire Tony to achieve great things in life, which irritated young Tony Stark. When he was four years old, he created his first circuit board. At the age of less than seven, he built a V8 motor engine. At the age of sixteen, he won the 4th Annual M.I.T. Robot Designers Festival. At the age of seventeen, he graduated from MIT at the top of his year. During his studies, he also met James Rhodes, with whom they became best friends. One of the things that irritated Tony during his childhood was his nanny who took care of him until he was 14 years old. While attending high school, Stark hacked into the Pentagon's database through a bet with his friends.

In December 1991, when Tony was only 21, Howard and Maria prepared to leave for a few days, leaving him alone, although his father remained skeptical about Tony's responsibility during their absence. Unfortunately, they died in a car accident on Long Island, causing Tony to lose himself in grief over their deaths. For a few months, Howard's business partner, Obadiah Stane, became interim CEO of Stark Industries until Tony officially took over the position shortly thereafter. Some time later, Tony's family butler who had served the Starks for years, Edwin Jarvis, also died.

A few months later, Stark inherited Stark Industries, becoming the youngest CEO of a Fortune 500 company in history. When Stark built his mansion, he equipped it with artificial intelligence. He named it "Just a Rather Very Intelligent System" - J.A.R.V.I.S. for short, in honor of his late butler and friend, Edwin Jarvis, whom he often credited with raising him.

Tony's carefree lifestyle changes forever when, after testing a new weapon, his convoy is attacked and he is kidnapped by rebels. Wounded by a bullet lodged near his heart, Tony is forced to construct a powerful weapon for Raza (Faran Tahir), the mysterious rebel leader. However, regardless of his captors' demands, Tony uses his intellect and genius to construct an armor that will keep him alive and help him escape. Back in America, Tony struggles to come to terms with his past and vows to take his company, Stark Industries, in a completely new direction. Despite the resistance of Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges), his right-hand man and one of the heads of the company who took over during his absence, Tony spends his days and nights in the workshop, working on the construction of technologically advanced armor that will provide him with superhuman strength and protection against attacks.

Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D., visits Stark at home and tells him that Iron Man is not the only superhero in the world and that he wants to discuss the "Avengers Initiative" with him.
