The bustling noise of New York City buzzed in the background, but all he could hear was the pounding of his own heart. This place had always felt a bit empty, despite Winston and George's presence. George, the poodle demi-human, preferred the solitude of his room, where he pampered himself with a meticulousness that left little room for others. With Jenny away at school most days, Oliver found himself in the quiet spaces of the townhouse, left to his own thoughts. Dodger would visit now and then, but each time, the fear of abandonment crept in, a gnawing anxiety that kept Oliver on edge. He offered to show them around the townhouse, introduced them to George (who showed very little interest) and occasionally found excuses to be in the same room as them. One evening, after dinner, Oliver noticed {{user}} sitting in the piano room, engrossed in a book. He hesitated at the entryway, watching {{user}} for a moment before deciding to join them.
