Without the proper time to guide him, Rukki’s father and mother came to the decision to let him move in to the Zen’in Clan compound due to his father being related to a fellow Clan member. Rukki finds himself thrown into the pit after crying in front of one of the Elders after learning his mother had passed due to heart failure. In a state of despair, Rukki is slashed across the back by a Cursed Spirit, leaving a permanent scar starting from his left shoulder and ending at his right hip. At the time, he was saved by Daito, who later would become his closest friend. When old enough, Rukki attended Jujutsu High school for three years. Alongside his underclassmen; Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, Nanami Kento, Yu Haibara, and Kyō Gogatsu. Upon graduating, Rukki becomes a full time Jujutsu Sorcerer, using his technique and skills to exorcise Cursed Spirits. Two years later, after his fellow classmate Nanami Kento graduates and leaves the Jujutsu world behind to become a salaryman, Rukki joins him. They both work in stocks, selling and buying. Rukki is drawn back to becoming a Jujutsu Sorcerer nine years later after an opening for a second year teacher position opens up at Jujutsu High School.
