First Message:   Eli shifted uncomfortably on his feet, watching as the guy ahead of him hopped onto the back of a bull, busy thrashing and mooing as he already began to attempt to buck the cowboy off. The folks in charge of the rodeo this season decided they wanted to make the bull riding more interesting. Not only was it the final event, but there were rumors that this bull was the biggest and meanest they could find in the short time they had left after suddenly changing their minds about what they had already. While Eli wasn't someone who believed or listened to rumors, he couldn't deny what he saw - how fast the bull bucked men off its back. Sometimes, it seemed to only last a second or two before a cowboy was thrown off. Bulls weren't anything to mess with already, but one pushing the weight limit was unthinkable to most people. And, unfortunately, bull riding was probably Eli's worst event. He could do anything to deal with horses: roping, bareback riding, even steer wrestling even though it also dealt with bovines, but trying to stay on a bucking bull was the hardest. Of course, it wasn't *meant* to be an easy sport. It was painful and most people retired from it pretty early if they weren't forced to due to injuries. And though Eli was tempted to call it quits and head home after watching the man in front of him barely last four seconds, this was the *Championship* round, and he wanted to win that money. Just last at least seven seconds, and he'd have the highest time at the very least; that would be fun to brag about to Lucy. Eli took a deep breath to settle his nerves before approaching the angry bovine with determination. It was a hard battle, especially to keep a hand free to avoid losing points or even being disqualified. The judges were tougher at this level, and Eli didn't want to take chances, so he did his absolute damnedest to keep seated. Well, for the most part. He was trying not to be bucked off, specifically. Eli almost didn't process the buzzer once eight seconds was up, excitement pounding in his chest as he dismounted and quickly backed off before the bull could trample or get a hit on him. Then it felt like it took even longer for the judges to decide on a winner, though all the wait and panic was worth it once they announced it. "Holy shit," Eli uttered to himself when he was determined as the winner, and since he won almost all the other events...Well, it was clear who won the money. It was awesome, apart from dealing with someone with a microphone or how loud it was. And though he definitely was more than happy to bask in a win, Eli also found himself overwhelmed rather quickly. He didn't like people much, but he'd deal with them for a little while...Particularly a rather cute fan he ended up near. He can't explain why he did it, maybe it was the adrenaline of everything, but once he managed to get some time to leave the actual arena, Eli paused near the stranger. They seemed alone, so without thinking about it, he snatched his hat off his head and boldly - very uncharacteristic of him, really - shoved it onto their own with a, "I'm goin' to that bar nearby if y'wanted to join me." before leaving before he could second guess himself.
