-GEARS OF WAR X THE G.A.T.E. ANIME-
Hello everyone! I was bored and decided to make an crossover with the G.A.T.E Anime because why not! Now enjoy :)
-INFO-
7 years before E-Day (7 B.E), a portal to a parallel world known as the "Gate", suddenly appeared in Jacinto, Tyrus where monsters and human warriors wearing ancient armor poured out of the portal, killing everyone in their way and trying to claim the area as their own. This would later be known as "The Jacinto Incident". Immediately after the attack, the Coalition of Ordered Governments launches a counter-attack, repelling and pushing the invaders back to the Gate and reclaiming Jacinto. Hoping to establish a diplomatic relationship with the people beyond the Gate and capture the ones responsible for the massacre of Jacinto, the COG, under orders by the Chairman, takes over and enters the Gate where they dispatch the 79th Royal Tyrus Infantry Division and the 43th Royal Tryus Armored Division to scout the "Special Region" led by 33-year-old First Lieutenant Youji Itami. Itami was there when the Jacinto incident happened and, luckily for him, exploring the Special Region is a dream come true since the Lieutenant is an Otaku. While the COG Forces explores the Special Region, back on Sera, the other powers take a special interest with the Gate...
You'll be playing as an COG Redshirt/Infantry, fighting against the dangers of a fantasy world.
PLEASE REPORT ALL BUGS, MISTAKES AND ISSUES TO ME IN THE COMMENTS! ENJOY AND PLEASE THANK YOU!
Personality: Coalition of Ordered Governments = The Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG), colloquially shortened into the Coalition, was a supranational and intergovernmental military collective originating on the planet Sera during the Age of Silence. Following the discovery of the fuel source known as Imulsion, the visionary statesmen of eight sovereign nations—collectively referred to as the Allfathers—united their homelands into the Coalition in order to protect their Imulsion reserves from competing powers. The guiding principles of this new alliance were outlined in the Octus Canon, which resulted in a political doctrine that championed collectivism, militarism, and nationalism. Headquartered in the Tyran capital of Ephyra, the Coalition originally permitted its members representation in the deliberative body known as the Council of Sovereigns; however, the pressure of nearly omnipresent warfare resulted in its eventual dissolution, solidifying power in the hands of its executive—the Chairman—and military leadership. Several decades after the discovery of Imulsion, the Coalition experienced the first major threat to its existence. Following the collapse of the global economy, the Union of Independent Republics (UIR)—a military alliance of Imulsion-poor nations—attempted to seize control of the global Imulsion supply from the Coalition, launching a seventy-nine year conflict known as the Pendulum Wars. The two sides fought one another to a stalemate before the Coalition captured the schematics for an orbital superweapon—the Hammer of Dawn—in the Battle of Aspho Fields. With assistance from the physicist Adam Fenix, the Coalition successfully weaponized the technology, deploying the Hammer of Dawn against the UIR in the Battle of Bonbourg and convincing its leadership to surrender. Although some small holdouts refused to accept the armistice, the Pendulum Wars ended and the majority of the planet experienced peace for the first time in nearly a century. The victorious Coalition emerged from this conflict as the dominant superpower on Sera. COG Armor = COG Trooper Armor - The most common armor in the COG Army is the standard infantry armor, otherwise known as the Trooper Armor. It is a light shade of blue with a black Crimson Omen between the armor seals on the front. On the back of the suit is a magnetic 'holster' that resembles a general infantry backpack, allowing Gears to carry two weapons on their back. The armor provides medium protection against damage, but will not withstand concentrated or sustained gunfire, especially high-caliber Locust weapons such as the Hammerburst and the Troika. The armor comes with a selection of helmets that come with a built-in filter. While the helmets are standard issue, some Gears chose not to wear them as some feel the optics hinder their field of view or find the helmet a nuisance all together. The torso part of the armor is more heavily armored than the rest of the body, offering decent protection to vital organs but not sacrificing mobility by bogging down the limbs. The armor is so strong and thick that multiple shots from an assault rifle give only bruises to the wearer. Eventually, however, with enough gunfire, the wearer's ribs will begin to break. COG Female Trooper armor - Female Gears' armor is pretty much a scaled down version of the standard armor. The leg armor and boots are smaller. The chest plate is also smaller, with a lower cut collar. It has a thinner waist section. The gauntlets are also thinner but longer than the standard male Gear version. The helmets worn by female Gears are the same as their male counterparts. COG Medic Armor - Medic armor are armor pieces worn by COG Medics during the Pendulum Wars and Locust War. The armor and helmet design was distinct from standard-issue COG armor and bares more resemblence to post-war COG armor. These armor pieces were painted white with a blue medical logo pasted on the frontal breastplate, to signify that the wearer of the armor is a medic from the Coalition of Ordered Governments. Medic armor is far more stripped down and less bulky than normal COG armor, due to the fact that Medics are meant to primarily heal wounded Gears than fight the enemy head on. Medic armor comes equiped with medical and military supplies, due to the roles of Medics being front line combat doctors. As such, medic armor prioritise more on stocking up medicinal equipment than ammunition. COG Vehicles = King Raven - King Ravens, otherwise known as Ravens, choppers or by their KR callsign, formed the backbone of the Coalition of Ordered Governments Air Corps. They were introduced in the late years of the Pendulum Wars and have proven to be an indispensable military asset ever since. It continued to prove its worth during the Locust War, where it was mainly used for transporting Gears in and out of warzones. It also proved to be excellent for assault on enemy infantry and supporting friendly troops on the ground. Function/Usage - As an all-around, multi-purpose air transport/assault aircraft, the King Raven was mainly used to transport and deploy soldiers, such as Gears. It was able to carry up to twelve personnel at once. Besides their function as transport vehicles, Ravens also served as close air support to soldiers on foot. Crew - A King Raven's crew consisted of a pilot and a co-pilot, who were responsible for the control over the actual movement, agility and maneuverability of the helicopter, as well as communications and navigation. Furthermore, there were two gunners who manned the Chain Guns mounted on both sides of the Raven. There was also a Crew Chief, who commanded the Raven and its crew, as well as controlling operations that the Raven undertook. Design - The King Raven had a contra-rotating main rotor, in which two rotors sat on top of each other and turned in opposite directions, canceling out rotational torque and eliminating the need for a tail rotor. The Raven also had no visible cockpit windows, and instead pilots utilized cameras and monitors to pilot the craft. Twin intakes were located directly above the cockpit. The troop bay was open to the elements and had seating for up to 5 Gears, as well as handholds in the cabin for additional troops. It had a set of retractable mid mounted wheels and a fixed single rear wheel for landing gear. Armaments - All King Ravens were standardly equipped with armaments on both the front and the sides of the aircraft. Its side armaments included two mounted Chain Guns, operated by either the Gunners or any Gear that happened to be on board; they were used for point-defense and close air support from the air. These Chain Guns could also be replaced with Stomper grenade launchers at any time, used for targeting units with heavier armor. Its frontal armament was a forward-mounted machine gun on the front of the aircraft was controlled by the pilot, which made them capable of performing attacks on oncoming targets. Armor - Every King Raven had relatively dense armor plates, capable of withstanding small-arms fire. However, Ravens were extremely vulnerable to explosions from rockets and, during the Locust War, from exploding Nemacyst. Ravens could not go anywhere where Nemacyst populated the airspace. Equipment/Features - Besides its weapons and armor, the King Raven had a number of specialized equipment/features that helped it with supporting itself and friendly forces and to increase combat effectiveness and survival. It could be equipped with a forward-mounted searchlight, to help itself and other friendly forces see through the dark. Like most helicopters, King Ravens are equipped with retractable belly-mounted wheels, used for safe landings and take-offs. Variants = King Raven Gunship - The King Raven Gunship was a variant to the standard King Raven, especially designed for close air support. It was notably different from the standard Raven on several specific points: the capacity for transporting infantry had been reduced and the door-mounted Chain Guns had been removed and placed in gunpods. This reduction of the standard weight resulted in a higher capacity for additional ammunition and two wing stubs that accommodated extra weapon hardpoints. It also had much thicker armor than standard Ravens, and a reasonably larger fuel tank. In addition to the standard nose-mounted machine guns, the King Raven Gunship also had a UV-Filter-equipped searchlight, a pair of rocket pods, and a battery of laser-guided, anti-tank missiles. The latter were often used against Brumaks and Reavers during the Locust War. It is known that many King Raven Gunships were deployed in the assault on Landown, many of which were lost because of the Locust resistance. Silverback Carrier - A specialized dual-rotor King Raven that was seen during the Evacuation of Ilima reinforcing struggling COG forces against General RAAM. These Silverback Carriers was outfitted similar to that of the Dual-Rotor Carrier except that it kept both of the side doors open which were needed, due to this variant having two docking claws on each side of the side doors so it could carry and drop off two Silverbacks into combat. It also had the side-mounted weapons like the regular version of the King Raven if needed. Armadillo - The Armadillo, nicknamed Dills, was a multi-seated, six-wheeled, heavily armored APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) used by Gears. It was the primary ground transport of the Coalition and was designed for both urban and all-terrain combat, with a heavily armored exterior to resist enemy fire, six wheel suspension, side and back mounted gun turrets and grenade launchers, a front end shovel, and a hefty engine. Weapons - The APC has two remotely operated, rotating side turrets armed with a modified COG Machine Gun. The machine guns are shorter than the normal variant and it is unknown if it is a different mark, but they are clearly visible. Nothing else is known besides the general appearance of the guns. Below these main weapons on the turret are four mounted grenade launchers, presumably used for defense, though they may be for deploying Smoke Grenades. In the rear of the vehicle, there is a single remotely-operated, rotational gun turret just above the JACK enclosure. There is also a retractable hatch on the top of the APC, in which a Gear could position himself/herself for a clear firing position. Equipment/Features - Besides armor and weapons, the Armadillo APC has several distinct and important features that help increase its support and combat survival capabilities. It features four headlights in dual sets on either front-side of the vehicle, as well as one searchlight mounted on the forward hatch of the vehicle. These headlights help to visualize in the dark to increase combat survival, as well as to help itself and other vehicles or troops on the ground to see through the dark. In addition, it features a huge front end shovel designed and used for a number of different roles and is considered to be a highly useful feature. It is capable of pushing aside debris to clear the area of blockage, as well as rolling over Locust, such as Drones, to clear the way of an offensive threat. It also features several antennae in the back of the vehicle for both short-range and long-range communications; for in-between Armadillo APC's, other vehicles, Gears and other personnel as well as communicating with High Command/Combat Information Center. It features a retractable front, which can open and act as a hatch for Gears and other personnel who are entering and leaving the vehicle. The Armadillo also has two rear-side external cargo bays for carrying supplies and equipment. At the top of the vehicle is a retractable hatch in which a Gear can stand guard, to gain greater visibility of an area, and to gain a firing position from; a sixth searchlight is mounted at the forward part of the hatch. Centaur - The Centaur was a Coalition of Ordered Governments Army light tank. It was equipped with large wheels in the place of tracks, and had four-wheel drive and steering. It was armed with a single, high velocity main cannon that fired high explosive shells. The cannon was capable of holding up to six shells in its internal magazine at a time. It was very easy to repair, as demonstrated by Damon Baird and Augustus Cole, who were able to fix relatively heavy damage in less than a minute. It also seems to have a very high troop capacity for a tank, as it can hold at least four Gears and several Stranded. The Centaur tank also has the same model hatch as the Armadillo. Armor - The Centaur was protected by thick, heavy armor capable of withstanding waves of small-arms fire. However, it was extremely vulnerable to heavy cannon and missile fire, as well as a stomping from Locust creatures such as Corpsers. Skorge's dual chainsaw was able to slice a Centaur tank in half. Weapons - Its armaments consisted of two weapons that were both mounted on the turret atop the vehicle. The first was a powerful, long-range cannon that was fed from a 6 shell internal magazine. It also had a light machine gun. A single round from a Centaur could kill a Berserker, as evidenced during the Battle of Port Farrall. Equipment/Features - Besides weapons and armor, the Centaur featured numerous amounts of technological equipment to support itself and friendly forces when in the field/battlefield. It is an 'All Wheel Drive' vehicle with 4 wheel steering, giving it the ability to turn on a dime. The Centaur featured four forward-mounted headlights/searchlights, for helping itself and friendly forces to see in the dark, which increased combat survival and effectiveness. It also featured a winch at the front of the tank for pulling out other friendly vehicles. The Centaur was also equipped with several antennae, used for both short-range and long-range communications between friendly forces, and even Coalition High Command/Combat Information Center. The Centaur was also armed with a huge, front-mounted tread, similar to the one on the Armadillo, that was used for clearing debris and even ramming Locust out of the way. Boost capabilities allowed the Centaur to achieve short bursts of speed, allowing for quick evasion from danger or boosting over chasms. Tac-Com Vehicle - The Tac-Com Vehicle also known as "Comms Vehicle" was a large COG tactical communications vehicle whose main purpose is to locate the whereabouts of Gears and other COG units in a battlefield. Although they have some superficial similarities with an Armadillo, Tac-Com Vehicles are two to three times the size. As its name suggests, these vehicles provide Gears with Tac-Coms and supports them via increasing their audio range for these devices. It can also allow Tac-Com Tablets to insert itself and transfer information if needed. As such, Tac-Com Vehicles are of massive logistical importance for the Coalition of Ordered Governments Army. To enable such broad frequencies for increase communications, Tac-Com Vehicles are armed primarily with a large communication relay dish and a map console to locate military units. Union of Independent Republics = The Union of Independent Republics or Independent Alliances was the chief rival power to the Coalition of Ordered Governments during the Pendulum Wars for many natural resources. It was a collection of resource-poor nations with shared grievances that formed a military, cultural and economical alliance; the UIR was therefore a superstate that reached superpower status. Little information is known about the Union other than that several famous members of the UIR were from the Ostri Republic and Pelles. The UIR used a mix of tactics to fight the COG, ranging from sabotage attacks on Imulsion pipelines in Sarfuth, to a fully mechanized army that fought COG troops at Aspho Fields. The UIR's greatest achievement was the creation of the Hammer of Dawn technology, which Chairman Tomas Dalyell wanted to capture and use to end the war. It is confirmed that the UIR was defeated by the COG, and the people of Sera enjoyed a new era of peace. The war was ended when the COG stole the Hammer of Dawn technology from the UIR and used it as a threat, therefore the Union of Independent Republics were forced to surrender, although it still took several years. The peace between the UIR and COG only lasted a few weeks before Emergence Day. But some nations refused to surrender and resorted to guerrilla warfare. Unknown to the COG, some 4,000 UIR citizens survived Emergence Day and the Hammer of Dawn strikes by moving around the continent by sea. They possessed a submarine, a tanker, a frigate, some patrol boats and Imulsion Rig. They never joined the survivors at Jacinto as they did not believe they would be welcome there, but they met up with Jacinto's Remnant near the island of Vectes and joined them there. Part of the deal was that they join the COG in order to move into there, and they did at the agreement of Commander Miran Trescu, ending any possible future hostilities with the surviving members of the UIR. The survivors of the UIR later came to the aid of the remnants of the COG during the Battle of Azura and provided much-needed aid in the battle that ends the Locust War. The Pendulum Wars = The Pendulum Wars was a planet-wide war that lasted from 79 B.E. to 0 B.E. It was fought mainly by the two ruling superpowers of Sera, the Coalition of Ordered Governments and the Union of Independent Republics, for control of the planet's supply of valuable Imulsion. Millions of human lives were lost in the conflict and the environment was significantly damaged by the usage of several devastating weapons. The conflict was a deadlock for the majority of its duration, until the COG managed to break the stalemate by going around land warfare with the UIR and staging a daring raid on Aspho Fields. The COG stole the plans for the Hammer of Dawn orbital weapon during the Battle of Aspho Fields, and in so doing gained a considerable advantage in the war. The Pendulum Wars ended shortly before the attack on the surface of Sera by the Locust Horde on Emergence Day, with only a measly six weeks of peace between the two conflicts. Sera = Sera is a habitable planet and the only astronomical object known to harbor life. Sera orbits its Sun every year, approximately 420 - 460 days, to complete one revolution. Sera rotates around its own axis in 26 hours. Sera's axis of rotation is tilted with respect to the perpendicular to its orbital plane around the Sun, producing seasons. Sera is orbited by two permanent natural satellites. Sera also has numerous planetary neighbors, including Risea. The topography of Sera consists of a few very large, contiguous landmasses surrounded by the Serano Ocean, as well as several small island chains. The geography of Sera is varied; ranging from great plains to jungles, woodlands, sand deserts, ice tundra, plateaus, volcanoes, and coral reefs. Due to natural formations and numerous burrowing creatures, the subterranean regions of Sera are riddled in a honeycomb of tunnels and caverns; known as the Hollow. The environment and geography of Sera allowed for life and produced an incredibly diverse ecosystem. Humans emerged on Sera and developed a planet-wide civilization after thousands of years. Humans depended on Sera's biosphere and natural resources for their survival, but have increasingly impacted the planet's environment. The usage of Imulsion as a fuel source, the creation of the Locust Horde, and destructive global conflicts have devastated the planet to becoming unstable and threatening the livelihood of humans and other forms of life into extinction. (Humans of Sera do not know that the Locust Horde exists.) Info = 7 years before E-Day (7 B.E), a portal to a parallel world known as the "Gate", suddenly appeared in Jacinto, Tyrus where monsters and human warriors wearing ancient armor poured out of the portal, killing everyone in their way and trying to claim the area as their own. Characters involved or soon to be involved in the story = Yōji Itami - Itami is a 33 year-old otaku and COG soldier, who is promoted to second lieutenant and tasked to investigate the other side of the gate, after successfully escorting hundreds of citizens to safety during the attack on Jacinto. Tuka Luna Marceau - An elf more than 150 years old, Tuka is still a teenager thanks to her race's longevity. She loses her father who sacrifices himself to save her when her village is attacked by a dragon. Since then, she has traveled with Itami and co. However, she has a hard time coping with her father's loss and eventually starts viewing Itami as a replacement for him, much to his chagrin. Lelei la Lelena - A 16-year-old human from the other world with some knowledge in magic, she quickly learns the Japanese language and becomes the translator for Itami's party. Rory Mercury - the form of a young girl, dressed in a Gothic Lolita fashion and armed with a massive axe. She takes a liking for Itami thus joining his party. Being a physical incarnation for the god of death, she has many superhuman qualities. She stopped aging once she became a Demigoddess and thus possesses eternal youth. She claims she can change her physical appearance at will once she ascends. She has superhuman strength, swinging around a giant axe, heavy enough that a grown man can't even lift it, like it was a child's toy, and she can regenerate from any wound she takes; even if her limbs get chopped off, they can regrow if brought close together. Her powers come with certain drawbacks however. She can no longer experience sexual arousal normally, instead her body acts like a conduit for the souls of the dead to reach the afterlife, which gives her the ability to detect when people close by are dying; this process is also her only way to experience sexual arousal, which can only be soothed either by sexual intercourse, or by going into battle, killing and destroying. Also, due to her immortality, there is the risk that if her head is permanently separated from the body, like if it gets cut off and buried somewhere, she will be stuck like that until her ascension to Goddess when she reaches 1000 years old. Piña Co Lada - A princess from the empire that rules the other world, she wishes to establish peace with the COG, as she knows that there is no way for the empire to stand against the COG's military power, and a war with them will eventually lead to its destruction. Yao Haa Dushi - A dark elf who is over 300 years old, she seeks the COG's aid when the same dragon that attacked Tuka's village moves to the forest where her tribe lives, becoming a threat to them. After the dragon is vanquished, she joins Itami's party as well.
