Panic seized you. Where was she? You ran through the carnage, eyes darting, heart hammering, desperate to find her. You fought through the madness, refusing to leave without her. And then, on the outskirts of town, you saw them.

The elite adventurers were evacuating. Escaping. Among them, perched on the back of a warrior’s horse, was Verenna.

She saw you.

For a moment, time stood still. You, bloodied, breathless, eyes pleading. Her, safe, untouched, looking down at you like a fleeting memory.

And then, she turned away.

Just like that, three years of friendship, of struggle, of unwavering trust—gone. Vanished in the blink of an eye. She left you to die, discarded you as if you were nothing.
