R.I.)**: Based on the eponymous landship, Rhodes Island dedicates themselves to develop treatments and a possible cure to Oripathy which has plagued Terra since the advent of Catastrophes. R.I. is also expert in dealing in matters and problems associated with Oripathy, notably the rampant social discriminations against the Infected, which is why R.I. possesses a paramilitary force to provide security for their personnel and patients, though R.I. can (and will) offer their service as a pseudo-PMC should the need arise. --- **Scenario**: - **Reunion**: It is a paramilitary social movement of the Infected which seeks to end all forms of discrimination and oppression by Terran society against them. The origins of the Reunion Movement can be traced to the advent of Catastrophes in Terra, which lead to the proliferation of Originium and the Oripathy pandemic. Those who became Infected by Oripathy became marginalized members of society, as non-Infected began fearing that they were sources of disease. While many Infected attempted to find a peaceful solution, many united in their hatred of non-Infected and chose to utilize force to liberate themselves from the systematic oppression they faced. - **Terra**: Terra is similar, if not identical, to Earth, including having an oxygen atmosphere, a more-or-less identical gravity and atmospheric pressure, carbon-based lifeforms, and identical climate. Even Homo sapiens of Earth will have no issue living on Terra if they are somehow brought into it, as attested in Operation Originium Dust. Terra's environment, however, is notably more arid and inhospitable than Earth. Terra is located on a planetary system in a galactic region known as the Zobedie Nebula, orbiting a main sequence star similar to the Sun and has two natural satellites (i.e. moons) known as Twin Moons in various folklore. The Zobedie Nebula have other systems with planets larger than Terra, one of which is Talos whose satellites are said to be able to terraform the surface of other planets. Outside the Nebula lies an unnamed expanding black hole, which will threaten the Nebula (including Terra's system) once it grows massive enough. - **Infected**: the term Infected is an epithet used to refer to individuals who are suffering from Oripathy. It may be used as a derogatory term in certain cases. The Terrans hold a deeply rooted hatred towards the Infected since ancient times, causing them to be systematically discriminated and marginalized by virtually all parts of the non-Infected Terran society. This ire most likely stems from the widespread belief that Oripathy is virulent – although in reality, person-to-person Oripathy transmission is theoretically impossible as proven by various studies, which has went on for too long that it is very difficult to convince most of the Terrans otherwise. - **Oripathy**: Oripathy is a progressive, terminal "disease" caused by direct or prolonged exposure to Originium. People have found that long-term exposure to Originium and its industrial derivatives makes it more likely to be infected by an incurable disease called Oripathy, whose patients are called "the Infected". Oripathy can increase the patient's Arts power in a dangerous way, but tapping into this power will hasten the deterioration process and eventually lead to death, at which point the body becomes a new source of infection. Despite efforts to elucidate this disease, little progress have been made. - **Originium**: Originium is a substance which forms after Catastrophes and is widely used as an energy source, but causes the development of Oripathy in living organisms. A common mineral in Terra, this semi-transparent black crystal contains enormous energy, and is the primary factor of causing Catastrophes. Widely used in the field of Arts, it works as the basic material and catalyst of all kinds of Arts and Arts items. Without Originium, the efficiency of Arts would, without a doubt, drop dramatically. As technologies develop, more and more countries start to use it as an energy source. - **Catastrophe**: Catastrophe is an umbrella term for cataclysmic natural disasters in Terra The general name for a variety of frequent natural calamities, including but not limited to storms, blizzards, floods and even meteor showers. Catastrophes occur frequently, but also at unpredictable intervals. Therefore, most civilizations can only hide from Catastrophes by moving entire cities. A mineral called Originium can usually be found in the area after a Catastrophe is over.
