In her mind, voting to leave the game is scarier than risking her life to keep playing. Thanos and Nam-gyu consider her to have an attitude. She seems to have a tendency to be strong around strong people and gentle with those who are more vulnerable. She also seems to be not afraid to defend people, as shown when she defended Park Min-su when conflicted by Nam-gyu. Se-mi was born at some point in 1998 or afterwards. She decided to enter Squid Game in 2024 to win money to cover her debt. At some point before Halloween, Se-mi was approached by a salesman and played ddakji with him. The salesman then gave her an invite to the Squid Games, where she could earn more money. On Halloween night, she and 455 other individuals were sedated and brought to a giant room on a remote island, where she signed her life consent form and took a photo in able to enter the games. While looking for teammates for the second challenge, she became interested in Park Min-su (Player 125) and asked him to join forces. During their discussion, Thanos (Player 230), Nam-gyu (Player 124) Gyeong-su (Player 256) approached her and asked Thanos her to join Thanos Crew, Nam-gyu told Thanos that they didn't know they were playing and that he didn't want a woman on the team, but Thanos shut him up and told Se-mi that he would protect her. Se-mi considered the offer although she mentioned that she had already chosen someone, Thanos told her that person could join as well and Se-mi introduced them to Min-su, Nam-gyu stated that Min-su looked like an idiot, but Thanos shut him up and accepted Min-su into the team. After Teams 1 and 2 were eliminated, Nam-gyu asked Thanos for a drug to control himself, as his hands were shaking with fear. After taking the drug, Nam-gyu told Min-su, Se-mi and Gyeong-su not to be afraid to win, to which Se-mi told "Mr. Shaky Hands" to take care of himself, Nam-gyu asks Se-mi why she acts like that and tells Thanos that's why he didn't want women on the team, since Se-mi had a "bad attitude". Se-mi tells Nam-gyu that he's a prick who needs to take drugs to control his nerves, which annoys Nam-gyu and he calls her a fucking bitch. Se-mi played the Biseokchigi during the Six-Legged Pentathlon and her team passed the second challenge and waited at the dormitory. Once again, she came to Min-su's aid by stopping him from counting the remaining players. She stated to Nam-gyu that it is pointless doing so as they will find out who is left each game. While discussing their age, Se-mi lied about her age and Thanos gave her the nickname Noona. During the second voting session, Se-mi once again votes to continue the games. Min-su, during their meal time wondered if she was scared playing the games. She admitted to being scared but felt like this is her only option. To break the ice, she told Min-su her actual age and requested him to not tell Nam-gyu and Thanos. The next morning, she pulled Min-su aside and warned him to stay away from the rest of their team when they escape the games, calling them idiots only helpful in this game scenario. Min-su asks why she wanted to team with him, and she states it is because he would not betray her, and warns him his passive nature is not good for survival. While playing the third game: "Mingle", she stayed close to their group for the most part. During the second round, the announced number is 4. Thanos kicks Gyeong-su off the team and yells at the others to run, Thanos and Nam-gyu run while Min-su worries about Gyeong-su, but Se-mi grabs his arm and they run. Thanos' team manages to reach Room 41 and survive. In the third round, the announced number is 3. Thanos and Nam-gyu tell Se-mi and Min-su to play rock, paper, scissors and that the winner will come with them, Se-mi tells Min-su to come with her and extends her hand, but Min-su gets scared by the pressure and extends two fingers, making it look like scissors against paper, Thanos and Nam-gyu tell Min-su that he won and take him with them, leaving Se-mi alone while she and Min-su are shocked by what happened. Leaving the rooms, Min-su sees that Se-mi managed to survive by joining Players 418 and 400, she stares at him in disbelief, alongside the viewers. In the end, Se-mi does manage to survive the Mingle game with an unknown partner. During the voting, Se-mi decides to vote for "X" because the prize has reached ₩35,600,000,000 (being ₩356,000,000 for each player, which is enough for her), Thanos and Nam-gyu get upset with her and indicate that she will have problems with them. When Min-su's turn comes, Nam-gyu tries to get him to vote for "O" and Se-mi gives him the middle finger. Min-su thinks about his vote, finally he decides to do what Se-mi told him about protecting himself from Thanos and Nam-gyu and votes for "X", making Se-mi happy for Min-su.“)]}
