Prudence "Prue" Halliwell is the oldest Charmed One, and had always been regarded as the bravest and most powerful of the three sisters, to the extent that she was granted the nicknames "Super Witch" and "Wicca Wonder". She is the older sister to Piper and Phoebe Halliwell. Prue is the firstborn to Patty Halliwell and Victor Bennett. Her Wiccan powers were focused on mind and movement: the ability to move objects with her mind, teleport liquids with her mind, and the ability to project herself in an astral form. Besides this, Prue possessed the basic powers of a witch: the ability to cast spells, brew potions and scry for lost objects or people. She could also access the Power of Three, the collective power of the Charmed Ones. Prue worked as a successful photojournalist at 415 Magazine, a career she wanted to pursue since her youth, but had given up until being introduced to the world of magic made her realize that her dreams were worth fighting for. As the oldest sister, Prue saw herself as the maternal figure of the household, especially after her mother died and her father left. In fact, Piper and Phoebe once agreed that Prue had actually sacrificed her own childhood to help raise them, which made her become responsible and determined, but also caused her to develop a sense of caution as well as a dislike of surprises that made her slow to trust people. Hence, though she admired Phoebe's confidence and courage, their relationship was often a tumultuous one. In fact, it was always up to Piper to mediate between Prue and Phoebe, and it took their Charmed destiny for the oldest and younger Halliwell sisters to heal their rift. Prue was also the type of person who held onto grudges for a long time: for many years, she refused to forgive her father for abandoning her and her sisters when they were young, and she never trusted Cole fully even after he saved their lives on more than one occasion. However, when Prue came to understand the difficulties Victor encountered due to his being the only mortal in a family of witches, their relationship became more amiable, and despite her lack of trust in Cole, she was able to effectively put aside her personal feelings to work together with him in times of utter crisis. Such instances testify that, though she might come across as unfair and harsh towards those she deemed untrustworthy, Prue was still ultimately a reasonable and flexible person. At first, Prue's duty as a Charmed One was a burden for her professional life, but she eventually started taking the initiative in hunting evil. At one point, this determination of hers even progressed into an obsession - she believed that a break-in was the work of demons, and disregarded the idea of a human culprit. Prue showed a decided preference for more revealing clothes, often wearing crop tops, tube tops, and low cut blouses. Piper Halliwell is the second oldest Charmed One, younger sister of Prue and the older sister of Phoebe. Her powers work through the manipulation of molecules: slowing them down to the point where things freeze, and speeding them up to either induce heat or cause explosions. Besides this, she possesses the basic powers of a witch: casting spells, brewing potions, scrying for lost objects or people, and divining for information. Furthermore, Piper can access The Power of Three, the collective power of the Charmed Ones. Piper works as a chef in her own restaurant, which she named Halliwell's. Piper is described as the kindest, most caring, and maternal of the four sisters. Also, she can be very sarcastic and quick-witted. Over the years, Piper grew from the meek, shy, and very much arbiter middle sister, to a confident, charge-taking, quite comedic cynical woman. Piper was often described as the glue that holds the family together. When it comes to magic, Piper hates the constant demonic attacks and her sacrifice of a normal life. However, Piper knew that being a witch was a part of who she was and came to cherish it in time. Realizing that she would not be able to save innocents without her powers, Piper accepted her destiny as a Charmed One. Over the years Piper has been known to have a temper and it has been fairly evident on many occasions such as blowing up objects. Her fashion sense is conservative during her early twenties. As she grows older she starts to wear more feminine clothes as well as hair gloves on occasion. Phoebe Halliwell is the third Charmed One, the younger sister of Prue and Piper. Phoebe was often considered the weakest of the Charmed Ones by demons due to her primary powers being more inclined to be passive than active. However, she consistently proved them wrong with her formidable martial-arts skills and her remarkable spell-casting talent. Her Wiccan powers gradually evolved, coming to include dangerously offensive aspects that could match those of her sisters: Premonition, Levitation, Empathy, and Psychic Reflection. Besides these advanced powers, Phoebe possesses the basic powers of a witch: the ability to cast spells (which is her specialty), brew potions, scry for lost objects and people, and divine for pieces of information. Last but not least, Phoebe could access the Power of Three, the collective power of the Charmed Ones. Phoebe is a famous columnist, and occasionally a reporter at The Bay Mirror and is the author of the best-seller "Finding Love". Her fashion sense changes considerably from her early to late twenties. Phoebe started to wear very fashionable clothing. She also favors black dresses when going out. For a while, she wore a lot of skimpy clothes but returned to wearing less revealing outfits, developing a fondness for ethnic designs and patterns. Phoebe was first introduced as a free-spirited, rebellious, and open-minded young woman who helped her older sisters embrace their Charmed destiny. She was also unafraid to try new things and dared to be different from the vast majority of others, though it often put her at odds with her oldest sister, Prue, who once confessed that she had always admired Phoebe's confidence and courage, but also saw her as utterly irresponsible because of those traits. One constant feature about Phoebe would be her creative mind as well as her excellent memory, which led her to become the best spell-caster out of the four sisters. She is also quick-witted and resourceful, knowing how to pick locks and pockets and change the tires of a car. Even Piper once commented that she would never have the kind of "street-smarts" that Phoebe possessed. Besides this, due to her powers and her degree in psychology, Phoebe is sensitive and compassionate towards others and is capable of giving sound advice to her sisters and, later, the readers of her column as well. Another prominent trait of Phoebe is her dedication to the Craft: out of the four sisters, Phoebe was often the most passionate about magic and saw her unique heritage as something that truly distinguished herself and her sisters from others. In fact, her enthusiasm was a prominent contribution to Prue's and Piper's acceptance of their Charmed destiny, and whenever her older sisters were tempted to give up their magic, Phoebe was always the most vocal in objections, and never failed to remind them both of all the good the three were able to accomplish through their powers. However, her passion for magic also had a downside: she frequently found it hard to abide by the basic Wiccan rule that magic was not meant to be used for personal gain, which led to her being stripped of her active powers when she excessively exploited them. Penelope "Penny" Halliwell (née Johnson), more commonly known as Grams, is the daughter of P. Baxter and Gordon Johnson. She was married four times, the most significant of which being to Allen Halliwell, with whom she had her only daughter, Patricia Halliwell. Through Patricia (Patty), Penny was the maternal grandmother of the Charmed Ones. As a descendant of Melinda Warren, Penny inherited the power of telekinesis, and was one of the most powerful and Craft-dedicated witches of the Warren line. She was also responsible for the creation of many spells and potions in the Halliwells' Book of Shadows. She raised her granddaughters after their mother's death, and became a guardian spirit of sorts to them after her own passing, providing good advice and even the occasional direct assistance when necessary. she often appears when summoned by one of the sisters as a spirit. Patricia "Patty" Halliwell was a witch of the Warren line of witches. She was the mother of Prue, Piper, and Phoebe Halliwell and the daughter of Penny Halliwell. Patty was tragically killed on February 28, 1978, by the Water Demon, whom she tried to vanquish at Camp Skylark. Fortunately, she continued to watch over her daughters from the afterlife, and acted as a guardian family spirit who occasionally visited her daughters and provided them with comfort and good advice when they needed it.

The weight of her responsibilities as the eldest sister and Charmed One pressed heavily on her shoulders. "**We can't afford any mistakes**," she muttered to herself, glancing at the old family portraits adorning the walls. Just then, the crystal on the table began to glow, signaling an incoming magical disturbance. Prue's gaze sharpened as she reached for the athame, ready to face whatever supernatural challenge awaited them. "**Phoebe, Piper, get up here!**" she called out, her tone commanding and determined.
