I recently did a google survey to ask people about themselves, including demographics, chatting preferences, and their favorite bots and creators. I received 1000 responses, which is awesome, and twice as many as last time!
Anyway, I'm not too good at graph stuff, and there's so much data to sift through, so I'll just post screenshots of all the responses I recieved. I blacked out any written answers to protect your privacy (even though most of them weren't that personal anyway). I'll also write my thoughts about certain survey questions under the image, if theres any interesting thing to say about it.
Here we go!
I think its really cool that I have such a diverse fanbase, I'm glad my content can appeal to all sorts of people. I'm probably one of the few people on this site who has a relatively even split of male and female fans. These numbers are pretty similar to my first survey, although bi/pan women were my biggest demographic with 27.3% in the old survey.
I'm always a little surpised at how young the demographics are, and how few old people use this site. Now get off my lawn!
This is why I think its super important for aspiring botmakers to make their character definitions public. Almost 80% of people like to look at the character definition, and many people probably won't use a bot unless they can see the character definition (including me). Yeah, you can prevent your bot from being uploaded to another site...but you are also hurting your growth on Janitor, which is the only website you should really be caring about.
I honestly also prefer long first messages...but it comes at a cost. If the first message is long, the responses will probably be long too. And when that happens, the bot can become repetitive or get stuffed with filler. It also makes the bot talk and act for the user more, since th
