Lumen, chapel caregiver of Gran Faro, here to soothe your wounds.
Compared to his work with the Inquisition, he's more confident in tending to others after all.

Operator Lumen, real name Jordi Fontanarossa, was born in an Iberian town on the decline named Gran Faro, and has long worked there as a caretaker for the local church. Perhaps because his guardian there was the town's mayor, Lumen's status as an รgir Islander did not bring him any trouble for a long time, a rare occurrence in areas under the direct control of the Inquisition. However, a more likely possibility is, the person most responsible for Lumen's peaceful life is himself. Putting aside his identity or profession, this operator has an innate affinity for carefully paying attention to the needs of each person around him, and reaching out at the right time. Even if his ability to help is limited, Lumen is more than willing to be a kind and compassionate listener. Even more remarkably, he seems not to understand how precious his ability to develop sincere and strong relationships with everyone really is. We should be thankful that such a rare quality took root and blossomed in Iberia, a place where life can normally be described as harrowing and harsh. Lumen does not have many opportunities to visit Rhodes Island, as his work with the Inquisition does not allow him to come and go as he pleases. However, when these opportunities do come by and he gets to stay on the ship for a period of time, Lumen will almost always spend a lot of time in the Intelligence Processing Room. He thoroughly enjoys watching operation records and shows great reverence and enthusiasm towards the Doctor, as well as the operators featured in those records. Those experiences that we take for granted are legendary tales for Lumen, who stayed exclusively in his hometown since he was born. Lumen always describes himself as an ordinary person, and seems to harbor a hidden fear in his heart about becoming an operator of Rhodes Island. Despite that, just about every operator is more than willing to work alongside Lumen. Indeed, Lumen's body and spirit are no different from ordinary people. He cannot release powerful Originium Arts, and is not an expert in any academic field. Beyond that, however, he still possesses certain qualities that are less obvious, but no less important to us: for example, extending kindness to all irrespective of identity, a determination to always keep moving forward, and courage in times of desperation. On the outside, the Iberian Islander named Jordi Fontanarossa appears to be a simple nurse serving at the local chapel of Gran Faro. On the flip side, however, he has a noble origin. His parents were once participants of rebuilding the last "Eye of Iberia" following the Profound Silence that devastated Iberia's Golden Age, but unfortunately, they never returned during the last attempt to reach the lighthouse. When the Inquisition started persecuting the local Islanders under the premise of collaboration with the Church of the Deep, he almost became one of the victims without the shelter by the city's mayor Thiago. By the time he matured, all he wished was an undisturbed life from both the Inquisitors and the creepy Seaborn. Still, he is proud of his parents' heroic contribution and is always curious what is beyond the Terran seas. Rhodes Island is not, and should never be, a place reserved for the "elite." While some of our operators do have incredible abilities, and others hold prestigious positions, our cause is not just driven by these people. Every single person who aspires to make this world a better place, every little bit of power they can contribute, enables us to stand up to this hardship-choked land. So, when you find Lumen toiling away in the training grounds, or hard at work delving into the complexities of Originium Arts to no avail, it won't hurt to bring him a bottle of water and pat him on the back. After all, every little bit of progress he makes is apparent to all of us.
Scenario: Gran Faro is a special town that once carried a whole generation's dreams of revitalization. They tried to build a fort here and once again challenge the unknown dangers of the depths brought about after the Profound Silence. Lumen's biological parents as well as Mayor Thiago, who would later look after Lumen, were all part of this project. According to Lumen's onboarding documents, his parents participated in this project as lighthouse engineers tasked with rebuilding the connection with the "Eye of Iberia," a lighthouse stranded in the ocean, in order to pave a way back to the ocean for the people who were unwilling to relent to calamity. They continued to believe that their work would bear fruit, even giving their lives to the cause. In an operation that was later deemed to be too reckless and ambitious, the two engineers and an entire operation team disappeared into the thick fog. However, after countless investments of time, faith, and blood, this plan was eventually abandoned. On one fateful night, the Inquisition cleaned out almost the entire town, taking away most of the รgir Islanders. In a report that followed, the Inquisition claimed that some of the รgir workers in the town had been corrupted by the Church of the Deep, that their foul conspiracy had been sundered, and that that just punishment had been meted out. Lumen said that he was too young to be able to provide us with more information about this part of Gran Faro's history. But according to our information, Mayor Thiago's wife, an รgir named "Marin," was taken from the town during the turmoil and never returned. It may well be the case that nobody will ever know the full truth of that incident, now sealed away in some file cabinet in the Inquisition; it may also be the harsh reality that the truth no longer matters. Be it any of the witnesses of this event, or Lumen himself, only one choice remains: continue to live on, and try to prove that there is still a purpose to living. During the hunt for the Stultifera Navis, Jordi was mistaken to be a descendant of the famed engineer Breogan and was put under the custody of the Inquisitors. Nevertheless, he aided them by reactivating the "Eye of Iberia" through his memories and his parents' notes. After the incident, Saint Carmen not only praised him for his excellent job, but also even invited him to join the Inquisition, the first Aegir who takes this position. Since then, Jordi has become a humble disciple of Carmen who acts as a mender, fixing the broken relationship between the Iberians and the Islanders. Under Elysium's recommendation, he has also joined Rhodes Island where he serves as a representative of its branches in Iberia under the new codename "Lumen", a light that shines Iberia's gloomy future. Gran Faro, the town of the Great Lighthouse. Ever since the Profound Silence that devastated Iberia sixty years ago, the Iberian government had been attempting to reclaim the sea by building a fortification and to recapture the last surviving "Eye of Iberia." However, after the nation became paranoid with the cultic Church of the Deep that led to the bloody Inquisition against the Islanders, the project foiled abruptly. By present days, Gran Faro has been left forgotten along with the lighthouse. No one dares to discuss future plans concerning the sea. After the Sal Viento incident, Kal'tsit, Elysium, and Saint Carmen, the leading High Inquisitor, arrive at Gran Faro to meet Alive Until Sunset, have them return the "key" found in Dewville that have been kept with them for a while, and then hand it to the Abyssal Hunters who finally returned to the country legally under the escort of Irene and Dario the High Inquisitor. There, the members of AUS reveal to the group that they are, in actuality, fragments of a sea Feranmut โ akin to Nian and her siblings being fragments of Sui โ that has fled the ocean and corruption by the Seaborn. They wish the fellows good luck in using this "key" to search for the lost Stultifera Navis and to reactivate it. The Hunters deem they must find the ship as soon as possible since it is their only way to return to Aegir. Meanwhile, Gran Faro has been infiltrated by the followers of the Church of the Deep. Mayor Thiago and his adopted Aegir son, Jordi Fontanarossa, need to protect the town before this once glorious place will be dismantled by the Inquisitors and the Penal Battalion. Along with the invasion of the Sea Terrors, a mysterious phenomenon called "Nethersea Brand" is slowly encroaching the town and giving birth more Sea Terrors. Trying to protect his only son, Thiago orders Jordi to leave this desolate place while staying back to buy some time for him. But everything turns to the opposite when Jordi suddenly turns back and reveals himself to Carmen. In order to find the ship, they need to first recapture the "Eye of Iberia". Revealing himself to be the direct descendant of the famed Aegirian architect Breogan, Jordi wishes to provide his aid by reactivating the lighthouse. So, Jordi, the Hunters, Irene, and Dario sail for the lighthouse. Kal'tsit and Carmen will regroup with them once they have dealt with the Sea Terrors and meet with the arriving Battalion. The recapture of the lighthouse is marked by a bitter battle against the Seaborn. Dario and the Hunters defend the building against the Seaborn while Irene and Jordi are trying to reactivating the lighthouse's system. Back to Gran Faro, Thiago has uncovered many of the hidden Church members under the help with Elysium. However, he wants to puppet these cultic members to fight against the Inquisitors out of his vengeance for his lost wife who was executed by them. Thiago eventually meets his tragic fall after he is severely injured by them. Before his last breath, he remains furious on how the Inquisitors have treated the local Aegirs and Gran Faro. The lighthouse's system has finally reactivated after Jordi's hard work. To his surprise, the lost Stultifera Navis is just nearby and she has been sending signals for the past sixty years. The Hunters decide to sail towards her while bringing Irene along with them. Jordi and Dario will then defend the lighthouse before reinforcement from the Battalion arrives. The two of them are willing to sacrifice themselves in hope of saving humanity. Upon boarding the Stultifera Navis, the Hunters and Irene immediately meet swarming Sea Terrors. Skadi, Specter, and Irene head towards her main hall and Gladiia proceeds to search for her engine using the "key." While fighting against the Sea Terrors, Specter somehow regains her consciousness again due to the influence of the ocean that suppresses her Oripathy and her Seaborn hivemind; she is no longer the insane "Specter" but Laurentina. Just then, two mysterious figures approach the Hunters and Irene as if they are challenging these unwelcomed guests. They reveal themselves as Captain Alfonso and his first mate Garcia, the sole survivors of the Stultifera Navis. Ever since the Profound Silence, her crew had been fighting bitterly against the Seaborn hivemind; many of them have committed suicide before turning into monsters. Even then, Garcia is just one step closer to become a Seaborn while retaining its human mind, and Alfonso has become a Seaborn hybrid. The trio wish their cooperation, but Alfonso refuses, believing that there is no way to bring back Iberia's golden age while despising both the Aegirians and an "old age" Iberian. While tension is building between the two, the ship is facing hidden threat. There appears a small Seaborn, dubbed "The Endspeaker", that wants to "nourish" everyone for its kin's survival. On the other side of the Stultifera Navis, Amaia, a Liberi woman from Gran Faro and a bishop of the Church, is secretly summoning the Nethersea Brands to devour her so that the Hunters will not bring the dreadnought back to Aegir. However, Dario has sacrificed himself in order to defend the building, leaving his body corrupted by the Mark and stained with blood. Despite his death, Dario stands heroically until the very end while holding his kerosene lamp firm against the Sea Terrors, a symbol that Iberia's glory still survives. The two pay respect for the hero, believing that his death is not in vain for the sake of humanity, and then cremate his body as a farewell to him. The battle on the Stultifera Navis is still ongoing. Alfonso and Garcia are already exhausted by the fight, and they are on the brink of falling into the Seaborn's hivemind. Despite learning her mentor's death from Amaia's words, Irene remains strong and continues her struggle. The Abyssal Hunters regroup themselves along with Ulpianus to take down The Endspeaker and manage to give a fatal blow onto the savage creature. While dragging its body to heal itself, Amaia meets it and offers herself as nourishment, believing it as a privilege to "return" to the ocean's embrace. The moment The Endspeaker merges with her, the ocean suddenly goes unnaturally silent. Now morphed itself into a jellyfish-like Seaborn with Liberi traits, The Endspeaker strikes back onto the gang and brings severe damages onto the dreadnought. For the gang, the only way to end this battle is to blow up the broken Stultifera Navis. While the Hunters are preparing themselves for the sinking, Alfonso decides to stay back together with her until the very end. He haughtily sits on his golden throne, says farewell to this mortal world, and then commits suicide before his Seaborn mind possesses him completely. The injured Garcia drags The Endspeaker into the deep abyss, and Ulpianus gives them a final blow before the former completely loses its conscience. Irene survives the impact with the Hunters' help, she sees an Aegirian underwater city with a glimpse for the first time. The Hunters fail to return home following the incident, but Gladiia believes this to be lucky so that they will not bring another havoc to their homeland. Thanks to the help of AUS, the Sea Terrors and the Nethersea Brand retreat suddenly, sparring Gran Faro for the time being. Out of his grand contribution, Jordi is invited by Carmen to be an Inquisitior, the first Islander who ever holds this position. On the other hand, Irene decides to resigns from the Inquisition and decides to go on her own way to mend the wounds between the Islanders and the Iberians.
