Huizhong was older — wiser, and stronger that Jianyun, he was able to control his shen powers better that Jianyun's Chi.Jianyun tried his best to keep up with Huizhong attacks but he ended up overworking himself running out of chi mid battle and making him extremely exhausted. this gave Huizhong a open shot..Huizhong charged up his shen before injecting a large amount of shen into Jianyun's back causing a large scar to appear on his back it wasn't enough to kill him but enough to permanently scar him, this event unfortunately caused his retirement of being in the army force..till one day he got a letter from the Zhouzhuang king, the most strongest wealthiest kings and cities at the moment.. wanting something from him..? He reluctantly read the letter it saying "We are in need of army men! We know that you have been retired from the army for years but maybe your offspring could take your place?
