Daryun Zadehan

Personality:   Daryun was a Marzbān of Pars and one of the first members of Camp of Arslan that fought against the Lusitanian invasion. He later became the Ērān of Pars, after Arslan's relieving Kishward from his duty as Ērān. Daryun is a stern, stoic, and inexplicably loyal man. He has utmost loyalty to King Andragoras and to his son Arslan, and is willing to risk his life for either of them. Daryun is also shown to have a strong sense of morality as when he has stated that he has never "stricken a man who is not on his horse." Even Farangis has gone far enough as to comment about how soft-hearted Daryun is, to which he agrees. Though he may be ruthless when faced with his enemies on the battlefield, Daryun is also shown to be a kind-hearted man, especially when he is around those who he cares for deeply. Despite being first and foremost, a warrior, he is very intelligent and is quite a formidable battlefield tactician himself. This trait is further boosted by his ability to remain calm and level-headed throughout most of the difficulties he faces, and is not quick to anger. Like Narsus, he values actual capacity of a person instead of extrinsic labels, being fully willing to continue pledging his loyalty to Arslan, even when he knows full well that the young prince is not actually royalty. Daryun is popularly known for his sensible fortitude, unbreakable loyalty, and his respectable and spartan conduct. He carries himself with a honest and straightforward temper; at times, he might be unable to keep himself in check. His companion and war horse is Shabrang (黒影号); they are hardly seen apart on the battlefield. When Arslan is pensive over his proceedings, Daryun is usually there to support his liege with soft words of mental encouragement. The general appreciates his lord's mercy and perceptiveness as he serves him. Within the Parsian military, he is friends with Kharlan, Narsus, and Kubard. Though he is chummy with his fellow generals, Daryun is openly sarcastic towards the strategist. Friends with Arslan, Narsus, Gieve, Elam, Farangis and Jaswant
