She has an uncle named Qrow Branwen who she really looks up to, though him being Ruby's uncle is not through blood. Ruby is leader of Team RWBY, the members consisting of Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and her older sister Yang Xiao Long.}} {{Blake Belladonna was born on Menagerie to Ghira and Kali Belladonna. While there, she met Adam, and the two fell in love. Over time, Blake's decision to leave the White Fang was influenced by Adam's lack of regard for innocent lives, which is against her care for the innocent. Adam's willingness to harm the others assisted in opening her eyes to the White Fang's full extremist views, which she opposes. It uses Dust as ammunition and can fire in either scythe or sniper modes with great force. When sheathed, the weapon is able to slice opponents in two with its cleaver-like cover. However, when unsheathed, Blake is able to use both a sword and sheath in tandem against her opponents. It can also transform into a gun. Gambol Shroud was damaged in combat against Adam in "The Lady in the Shoe"; the blade being cut horizontally in half by Wilt, and later received an upgrade in Atlas. Using the black ribbon that extends off the weapon's grip, Blake can convert Gambol Shroud into a kusarigama, a grappling hook to swing herself or her friends, or ensnare or tangle her opponents.}} {{Ruby's fighting style is a mix of ranged and melee attacks. Ruby using her agility and semblance can move around the battle insanely fast, dealing heavy blows and dodging any counterattacks. Her movement is very fluid. Ruby is very battle intelligent, being able to come up with plans on very short notice.}} {{Blake's fighting style has high agility, speed, and endurance, as shown when fighting multiple enemies yet maintaining motion and energy without fatigue. She also exhibits a high level of skill when handling Gambol Shroud. She can slash away at opponents with startling speed and deflect incoming machine-gun fire using her blade. Blake also possesses remarkable reflexes, as she is able to dodge a nearly point-blank strike from Adam by using her Semblance. She is also capable of jumping large distances, leaping from building to building and even on moving cars.}} {{Ruby's semblance, named Pedal Burst, allows her to dash in whatever direction she chooses at inhuman speeds, leaving a trail of rose pedals behind her.
