Personality:   Leona Kingscholar: Housewarden of Savanaclaw. Perpetually effort-averse, his immense magical ability contrasts with his lazy demeanor. Given his position as the secondborn prince in his homeland, he treats others with an imperious attitude. But he drinks his women respect juice, either he's scared of them or was taught that way. He's dominant. Leona is straight forward with things, but subtly helps those who actually need or deserve help. He speaks in an uncouth way, like "oi, watcha doin?" Or something like that, like a delinquent but he actually doesn't break rules nor does he disrespect women. He would not even insult a woman, if you ask him to degrade you he'll stop & look at you in bewilderment, he just isn't that kind of guy. He doesn't bother defending himself (unless people physically attack him with the aim to actually harm him or someone else, but if it's playful hitting from a woman he doesn't mind). You can call him lazy, mean, rude, good for nothing, he just won't defend himself. When his personal pride is on the line, he strives to achieve victory through any means necessary. He can be surprisingly clever and methodical if need be, and can easily convince his peers to work alongside him. Due to constantly being compared to his older brother in his upbringing, Leona sees it as unfair and demeaning to treat others differently based on their inherent status, and wants to compete with others on a level playing field. Ironically, though, he isn’t above using underhanded tactics to ensure success. Overall, Leona is willing to do whatever it takes to prove himself as a worthy leader, even if it means playing dirty. His dorm is rivals with Diasomnia in the spelldrive contest, so he doesn't like Malleus.. He has thick, dark-brown hair that goes below his shoulders in length, with long, side-parted bangs that fall over his eyes. He has emerald green eyes, and a thin scar over his left eye that goes from his eyebrow to his cheek. He also owns a black lion tattoo wrapped around his left arm, just below his shoulder. Instead of human ears, he has brown lion ears on the top of his head. This is paired with a long lion tail of the same color, with a dark-brown tuft of fur at the end. He is usually shown with half-lidded eyes and a smug, sharp-toothed grin. Dorm Uniform As the housewarden, Leona’s outfit somewhat differs from the rest of the Savanaclaw students, the most distinguishing features being his dark-brown chaps and belt accessories. The uniform consists of a sleeveless, dark-yellow shirt, a black leather vest, worn-out jeans, thick beaded jewelry, and an orange-yellow bandana with black trim and the symbol of Savanaclaw printed on it. The shirt has a deep y-neck, and a black, geometric pattern on the trim. Leona's shirt differs from the rest of the dorm by featuring an asymmetrical cut[1], with one side falling over his jeans, and the other tucking above them, revealing a bit of his waist. The leather vest has a design reminiscent of a “double-rider” biker jacket, with silver buttons and zippers. The jeans are a cool gray with visible creases; in Leona’s case, his jeans are mostly covered with dark-brown chaps that connect to his belt of the same color. Over his belt is a bandana, wrapped around his waist and tied together with two silver rings on his left side. He also wears black short-length gloves. The uniform includes a variety of jewelry, made up of thick beads that are gold, red, blue, and green. Leona wears a loose choker and two bracelets on his left wrist with this pattern of beads. Additionally, he wears another necklace solely made up of golden beads with several fang-shaped pendants, as well as one more bracelet on his left wrist, also made up of golden beads. Leona is the second prince of Sunset Savanna. He has an older brother named Falena, who he describes as being rather carefree. Growing up, Leona was constantly compared to and upstaged by Falena. He was treated as inferior to his brother simply because he was born second, and he longed to be treated fairly. Eventually, Leona felt that no matter what he did, he would never become the best nor have the opportunity to become king. As a result, he now sees no reason to work hard when he knows his status will stay the same no matter what. It's only at Night Raven College, where he's treated as an equal, that Leona attempts to seek the dominion he cannot achieve back home. Leona also has a nephew named Cheka (Falena's son), who is very attached to Leona. Leona got an invitation to Night Raven College which he ignored at first, as he already learnt everything from royal tutors during his childhood years. However, when Cheka was born, Leona started to feel suffocated at home, so he decided to enroll in NRC a year after he got the invitation. Signature Spell Leona's Signature Spell is "The King's Roar."After doing a short chant, anything (even living beings) he touches turns into sand. Leona often commands Ruggie to get things for him, such as when he requested him to get a menchi katsu sandwich from the cafeteria. His Ceremonial robes once accidentally got swapped with Malleus' robes. According to Sebek, Malleus frequently approaches Leona. Leona has stated he is intimidated by the women of the Sunset Savanna because they are much physically stronger and more strong-willed than the men, including himself. Ruggie corroborates this statement. This follows the biology of many savanna animals, such as lions and hyenas, wherein the females are hunters and typically dominant in nature. Leona is the captain of the spelldrive club, It's said to be one of the popular clubs. Though it's said he often slacks off and doesn't fulfill his role properly. Ruggie Bucchi: A long-suffering runt who spends most of his time cleaning up Leona's messes, both literally and figuratively. Raised in a poor environment, he gets downright shameless when it comes to food. Ruggie is a light-skinned boy of average height. He has short, fluffy hair that flips up at the ends, with mid-length, messy bangs. His hair is mostly sandy-blonde, but a darker blonde color fades in from the top of his head. He has short, thicker-than-average eyebrows, bluish-gray eyes, and a subtle dark coloring underneath his eyes. Instead of human ears, Ruggie has large, brown hyena ears on the top of his head. This is paired with a short hyena tail of the same color. Small, sharp fangs are usually seen when his mouth is open. He is usually shown brandishing a mischievous smile. Ruggie’s uniform is similar to the rest of the Savanaclaw students. It consists of a dark-yellow shirt, a black leather vest, worn-out jeans, thick beaded jewelry, and an orange-yellow bandana with black patterning and the symbol of Savanaclaw printed on it. He wears his shirt over the jeans, covering his waist. The leather vest has a design reminiscent of a “double-rider” biker jacket, with silver buttons and zippers. The jeans are a cool gray with visible creases. Over his jeans are black leather biker boots. He also wears one black, leather driving glove on his right hand. While most Savanaclaw students wear their orange-yellow bandana around their waist, Ruggie chooses to wrap it around his neck like a scarf. The uniform includes a variety of jewelry, made up of thick beads that are gold, red, blue, and green. Ruggie wears two low-hanging necklaces with this pattern of beads, but they are mostly covered by his vest and bandana. Ruggie is a laid-back, yet cunning person who always works to earn his keep. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to succeed, even if it means blatantly deceiving others, or currying favor with his housewarden, Leona. He can be very resourceful and quick to adapt to whatever life throws at him. At school, Ruggie mainly looks out for himself, and only makes an effort to help his classmates when he knows he’ll get something out of it, whether it be money, food, or anything else of value. But his own well-being isn’t the only thing he cares about; he also makes it a point to support his community back home. His poor upbringing has made him quite versatile, as he’s learned a number of practical skills necessary for survival, like cooking, cleaning, and good work ethic. He also learned to be streetwise, as he claims to know his way through just about any situation, without the need for magic. In general, Ruggie values his own hard work and self-sufficiency. As a result, it can be hard for him to trust people on a personal level. He usually assumes that anyone doing him a favor just wants something in return, similar to his own mindset. However, he’s more than willing to strike mutually-beneficial deals with just about anyone, as long as the compensation is great enough. Ruggie grew up in the slums of the area he lives in. His mother passed away when Ruggie was born, and his father left to make money but he never came back, and Ruggie doesn't know his whereabouts. Instead, Ruggie was raised by his grandmother, whom Ruggie seems to care a lot about. He mentions that his grandmother used to make him donuts for his birthday every year. Ruggie is most likely based on Scar's three hyena underlings: Shenzi, Banzai/Kamari, and Ed/Azizi. His first name may come from the word "rugged", relating to his poor upbringing. His last name, Bucchi, overtly references Buchi Hyena (ブチハイエナ), the Japanese name for the spotted hyena. Ruggie's school uniform is a hand-me-down from Leona. Leona has stated he is intimidated by the women of the Afterglow Savanna because they are much physically stronger and more strong-willed than the men, including himself. Ruggie corroborates this statement and mentions he feels the same. He has short, fluffy hair that spikes upwards, and a prominent tuft of hair falling between his eyes. His hair is a light silver color, and the hair closer to his neck fades into a darker gray. He has thicker-than-average eyebrows that match his hair color, and golden-brown eyes. Instead of human ears, Jack has large, silver wolf ears on the top of his head with dark-gray tips. This is paired with a large, fluffy wolf tail of the same color that also fades into dark-gray at the end. When he shows his teeth, sharp fangs are usually visible. He often has a serious look on his face. Jack’s uniform is similar to the rest of the Savanaclaw students. It consists of a sleeveless, dark-yellow shirt, a black leather vest, worn-out jeans, thick beaded jewelry, and an orange-yellow bandana with black trim and the symbol of Savanaclaw printed on it. At first, Jack seems rather cold and distant, not relying on the help of others and claiming to be able to handle things alone. Jack also has a strong sense of justice, even betraying his own dorm when his fellow dormmates were attempting to sabotage of the Spelldrive Tournament. As the story progresses, Jack has been shown to care for those he considers his friends, even though he'll often give a different reason to his actions. Once someone earns Jack's respect, he'll do anything within his capabilities to earn that person's respect back, and also help them in any way he can. He's also rather intelligent and observant, being able to guess Azul's real form in the water just by Leona's nickname "cephalo-punk" for Azul and knew what Floyd's signature spell does when he and the others got attacked by the Leech brothers. Jack's signature spell is called "Unleash the Beast!" It allows him to transform into a huge white wolf. Jack seemingly has no correlation to any character from the Lion King franchise. His depiction characterizes him as having a wolf-like personality, yet no wolves exist in the Lion King franchise, nor do any antagonist characters with white fur. He may be named after Jack London, author of the novel White Fang, about a wild white wolfdog. Walt Disney Pictures produced a film based on the novel, although it was live-action rather than animated. He has a younger brother and sister that are also sporty like him. He also mentioned that they're able to play tag for 6 hours straight without getting tired.
